It was dirty, did not smell good, did not have a TV remote, the desk chair had been chewed up by a dog and left to leak foam, the bath faucet would not turn off all the way. Throughout the hotel no one had vacuumed in days, the 1st and 2nd floor ice machines did not work and it cost 400.00. That place is in bad condition.
Matty at the front desk was amazing from the time we walked in the door to the time we checked out,.... We needed a few extras like towels and pillows and he went out of his way to make sure we had them with a smile on his face and no time did he act like we were a burden or an inconvenience his customer service skills are excellent ! Bella the housekeeper was also truly amazing and making our stay more comfortable for my sister who was post-op recovering before our long drive home , .... Due to Bella and Mattys amazing customer service I will highly recommend anybody to stay at Wyndham gardens they both treated us like they were truly happy we were there and both of them went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing, thank you
P.s. my 5 year old said she felt like a princess
The hall ways and elevators could really use a good wipe down and vacuum
Location
Close to the airport. Price. Easy pick up from the airport
There is NO AC in the room. It smells damp.
No soap in container in bathtub, toilet didn’t work
Nothing
This hotel was worse than anyone could’ve imagined. Entering the hotel it reeks of mold as they’re clearly as some sort of a leaking roof or some sort of problem there were fans all over the place, but they were not on the carpet was absolutely disgustingly filthy their marketplace. Had nothing to purchase zero water bottle zero snacks nothing. On entering the room, everything was filthy. The towels were threadbare. The bathtub had a huge gouges of porcelain, taken out of it and standing water. There is an empty bucket of cigarettes in the trashcan. All of the furniture was beat up literally chips and gouges. The lamps and lampshades had rust on them. The curtains had holes where light was coming through as it doesn’t get dark there in the summertime stains everywhere the carpet was filthy. This hotel was disgusting.
Not a lot of like. It was close to airport. And it did have shuttle to car rental the next day.
The shuttle pickup from airport was awful. We called numerous times for pickup. We waited an hour to finally get picked up. Driver was rude.
Facility was outdated. Bathroom and room were dirty. Breakfast was cold.
Very prompt pick up service from airport
Location was perfect.
The first room we were assigned to had not been finished cleaning. It was quite dirty and beds were stripped with linens on the floor.
Maybe worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Dirty, broken, understaffed, out of items
All
The only staff member on during the night.
Urine on the toilet in the bathroom that hadn't been cleaned. Multiple requests for cleaning or to move us. Over 2 hours until front desk employee came to clean. Portable fan in the room with no working heat/air.
Staff was nice
Old, dirty, for $300+ I expected much better.
Great location, clean, quiet, comfortable bed, good breakfast, shower that worked well. Otherwise, no frills, basic accommodation. Very pricey, but it's Alaska in summer, so we understand.
Honestly? The morning when we woke up to leave....
EVERYTHING. We called over the phone and complained and were told "oh gross I'm sorry". Upon checking out we showed PICTURES as we complained. We were told the same thing as the night before. No offer of any comp, any refund, any discount on a future stay (that will never happen). But we were offered NOTHING.
Our check-in experience at the Wyndham Garden Anchorage Airport around 9:45–9:50 PM was absolutely unacceptable and one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. First, we were assigned a room that was already occupied. When we opened the door, there were guests sleeping inside. It was an extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing situation, both for the guests whose privacy was violated and for us after a long trip. When we went back to the front desk to report the issue, what made the situation even worse was the staff’s reaction. Two of the employees treated it like a joke and started laughing about what had happened. Their response was completely unprofessional and disrespectful to both the guests whose room had been entered and to us as paying customers.
After being reassigned to another room, we noticed that the door appeared to have been forced or previously damaged. I have attached a photo. Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there. The room was not properly cleaned and was covered in old dust. The towels were completely worn out and should have been replaced long ago. The next morning, breakfast was just as disappointing. There weren’t even any forks available, making it difficult to eat. It is incredible that a hotel carrying the Wyndham name provides such poor quality accommodations and such disappointing customer service. This experience reflects a serious lack of attention to guest safety, cleanliness, and professionalism. I would not recommend staying here.
My Delta flight was first delayed from 10PM to 1AM on July 4th (5th) and then another 678 minutes just before 1AM meaning I was to fly out the next afternoon. I searched for a airport hotel with a shuttle rather than staying at the airport.
I called the local number on their website but it routed to a reservation center. I asked 3 questions - do you have a room, do you have a shuttle and what is the cost. I was assured of a room and that there was a 24 hour shuttle. So I made a non cancelable reservation guaranteed with my credit card. I asked that they transfer me to the local hotel for a shuttle pickup.
I was put on hold and the reservation person came back on line and informed me that the shuttle was not running as the driver had not showed up for work. He told me to take a cab. At 1:30 in the morning, I was not interested in dragging things out and got an Uber to get me to the hotel.
When checking in, I asked about covering the Uber cost and was told by the person on duty that they could not do that but would leave a note for the manager. She said there were many people who experienced the same thing.
I went to my room and changed for bed. I noticed that the pillows did not look laundered but figured that wrinkles were just not necessarily indicative of cleanliness. But when I pulled back the sheets, it became obvious that the the sheets were used with clear evidence of sex having occurred in the bed. it was really quite gross. The bedspread had been pulled up in an attempt to make the bed look made - but it seems quite obvious whomever cleaned the room was avoiding work and there was no quality control from management over their staff.
I called the front desk to complain and was told they would give me another room. So I had to repack and go downstairs to get a new room. No apology or acknowledgement just a new key when I went to the front desk.
In the morning when checking out, I asked about the cost of the Uber and was again told the person at the desk could not do anything. I asked that a note be left for the manager asking for a refund of that amount.
They then sent me a survey asking me to rate the stay. As you can imagine, I did not give a stellar review. The option to post my review to Trip Advisor was met with a message saying that link was currently unavailable (so I am guessing if you do not provide a good review, the link is disabled).
I heard nothing back other that today, July 8th, I got what is obviously an automatically generated message thanking me for picking their hotel and telling me they value my feedback. I sent a not back saying they had not responded to my request or even acknowledged the room that had not been properly cleaned.
I received a return message saying "your request 11829394 as been completed (DO NOT REPLY)"
Everything
The location, room and beds were clean and very good.
The promo regarding a pool (extremely small and cold) and 24/7 Gym (only 2 treadmill machines, no weights or anything else at all) was not as expected. The staff were not easily identifiable and not very happy looking but they were efficient. Maybe cheer them up and make them feel more appreciated so they in turn can make tired travelers feel more welcome.
