We stayed here after a cruise before our flight home. We thought with the Wyndham name that it would at least be suitable. I only want a clean hotel that is safe, so I am not a ridiculously picky person. We arrived early and were told that if we wanted to check in it would be a $35 charge. We then asked to put us down for a shuttle the next day and watched them write down our request for time and date. We finally checked in and our room was a dump for $300. We didn't have options, so we stayed, which was our first mistake. The second was finding out that the thermostat didn't work and we woke up to a room that was 64 degrees. We just wanted out, but when we came down, they said that there was no record of our shuttle reservation and that the shuttle was in the shop. They found out that it was only in for an oil change, so we were only delayed a half an hour and fortunately we had time. I realize that Anchorage is an expensive place, but I woke up with a headache because of the temperature in the room and the service and competancy was horrible. Do not stay here.
A room that smelled of old pizza and urine. Unclean pillow cases. Smeared mirrors and sticky surfaces. A heating/air conditioner that did not work. When it did come on, it was so loud that we had to turn it off. No light bulbs in the table lamps, no bucket for ice, no cups, not enough towels, no hot water for some who showered. Loud in hallways and outside. If I could rate it a zero, I would.
Location
Room was hot, furniture seemed dirty, breakfast was poor, shower wasn’t very hot, WiFi poor
I travel a lot for work. I stay in hotels 2-4 times every month. This is one of the worse hotels. Couldn’t connect to WiFi , the receptionist was not helpful. It’s very slow anyway. The breakfast was atrocious. There is a leak in my bathroom and water actually runs in the bathtub, the night light was broken and I had to slam the room door in order to properly shut. It’s a disseaster. The only good thing is the location if you need to be close to the airport and the beds are comfortable.
Location is good, McDonald’s right across the street, gas station/liquor store close.
The FREE breakfast is really good, helps save money
It was a little run down looking, decent number of homeless people around to look out for but that’s basically all of Anchorage these days
Check in/our staff were great. Clearly overwhelmed but did an amazing job despite the circumstances.
Unclean.. loud
The desk people were extremely nice.
I was told to sign in for shuttle service to airport in the morning , but about 12 people, going to work for outlying cannery crammed ahead of me in to the bus and I was left! Im certain they had no morning reservations, but the hotel should have offered me, minimally, an apology. Instead, I got excuses. Totally unacceptable.
Location and friendly staff
The carpet was sticky and the bathtub faucet was dripping.
Close to airport
In a bad part of town with lots of druggies around. The rooms were dark and permanently stained. The pool was small and not maintained well.
Nothing
Shower head was broken , zip tied contraption , drug users in back lot , garbage all over property .
Proximity to airport was helpful. Having breakfast available was convenient
Shuttle accessibility from the airport and to downtown was not a timely option. We chose to use Lyft instead. The hotel was outdated and dirty. The soap dispenser and lamp shade were broken. The view from the window was out in the parking lot, and an overflowing trash can was surrounded by trash.
The friendly staff and location
Thank you
