Fire alarm was going off the entire night, roaches, muggy, gross

The telephone did not work; the fire alarm went off during the afternoon and then during the night - all night. We had no idea whether it was a real fire or a faulty system, and were given no information - and we could not call...because the phone did not work... There were no managers on duty to speak with.
A pair of men's underwear was discovered under the bed, while looking for a dropped earring.
Breakfast is 6:30-8:30am - to 9am on weekends - ridiculous hours. Also not a good breakfast.
Only one elevator and it was on the opposite side of the building to our room. It felt like walking the long gray mile each time we returned...
AND - the hotel will be undergoing renovations - told that measurements of rooms must be taken during our stay. Our friends awoke to a man in their room at 2am - who believed the room was empty...and the security latch did not stop him. They also had ants.
Overall rating negative 5. Management does not care. It should not be open until renovations are completed and it is safe to stay.

The rooms are a bit dated. In fact they came around and did an inspection for a supposed refresh. The primary bath had some mildew growing on the wall, but other than that the room was clean. There was a couch and some kitchen chairs in the living room all of which were NOT comfortable. Also, the icemaker in the fridge did not work.

Bedbugs

Felt a bit underwhelming, carper had a peculiar smell and the elevator was wonky. Temperature in one of the bedrooms was a bit warm.

Water was cut off during the stay for 24 hours with no notice.
Asked for an itemized receipt and they refused stating since we booked through a third party (booking.com) the receipt should come from booking.com.
Rooms smell like mold.
Refrigerator broke so we needed to move rooms.
A vehicle, not ours, got a smashed window in the parking lot. A black 4 for door sedan.
The laundry is not free. Costs at least $10 to wash and dry and the washer smells bad.

Rooms were unacceptable. We reserved three rooms but gave up after the first four were either dirty (Q-tips on the carpet), bug/spider infested, stinky, and/or the locks did not work (our luggage was locked in one room for more than half an hour); that was trying to find just the first room. No crib provided although we were assured there would be one.

Outdated, many things need to be replaced.

Estuve 1 sola noche de 8 noches que iba a estar al segundo día a el carro que había rentado (que estaba estacionado frente a la entrada del hotel) lo encontré con un cristal roto y no fue el único a otros 3 carros le sucedió lo mismo. No hay ninguna seguridad. Definitivamente no vuelvo se siente inseguro el lugar. Daño mis vacaciones. No lo recomiendo.

The outdated furniture / look made the hotel seem creepy. The vents in shower and random spots made me feel like someone could have a camera or be watching.

The property was in desperate need of upkeep and repairs to the entire facilities. I cannot fathom how this place had such a high score for the condition it is in. The pictures and rating should be updated on Booking.com. Honestly, I could not see myself staying at another Sonesta again in the future. From driving up to the location, I had a feeling that it was more of a motel than a Hotel. When checking in, they placed me into a room that was not selected. When questioning this from the staff, they said this was all they had and did not offer any hospitality options. When coming to the door of the room, it looked like it had been busted into along the frame and door. The door had to be forced open to gain entry and the door handle on the inside was being held together by an oversized flat head screw. The room was very dated and looked to have been from the 90’s era or older. The walls were cracked and paint peeling in numerous areas. The base boards and doors were either broken or missing in portions. We also found bugs in the sheets in the secondary bed. There were interior doors missing and the bathrooms did not have any soap dispensers or soap available. Spoke with the front desk and asked for hand soap and was told they do not carry any since the rooms were upgraded. (Except our room was not upgraded). In the restrooms, there were no toilet paper holders installed and only had half rolls left on top of the toilets. The final straw was when leaving on the last day. I was loading out luggage in the car and when going back to the room, I found out that they had turned our card access off already. When I made it to the breakfast area at 9:02am, I asked if I could get a glass of apple juice and the representative told me that they shut down at 9:00 am. Very frustrating experience and could not fathom how this place stays in business and receives any decent reviews.
