Pros: The location of this hotel is fantastic. It sits right downtown within easy walking distance to a variety of great shops and restaurants. We got lucky during our stay and got to enjoy a local street fair right nearby, which was wonderful bonus.
Cons: The hotel itself feels quite dated and stripped of meaningful amenities. Aside from the excellent location, the property felt very bare and uninspired for a Marriott brand.
Overall: Come here for the walkability and convenience, but do not expect much from the actual hotel features.
We have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Milwaukee Downtown twice this year. The first time, we were in town for a wedding, we booked two rooms; one for my husband and I and one for our adult kids. The second time was a girls weekend for me and my two daughters.
Check in is always a breeze. Super friendly staff, the rooms are nice and clean. The lobby is very big and has lots of comfortable seating.
There is a Starbucks in the lobby and the hotel is connected to the Third Street Marketplace... however, it was closed during our visit in June (my daughter lives in Milwaukee and took us out for sushi).
We have stayed here several times since my daughter moved to Milwaukee many years ago, I am sure we will be back.
I liked the downtown location
I was travelling by motorcycle and had to pay $22 for use of a parking garage adjacent to the hotel. Hotel evidently has no free parking. Next time I won't assume a hotel has parking.
The sofa bed was really uncomfortable, soft and sagging, not good for anyone besides a kid maybe.
Walking distance to summer fest bars and restaurants. Parking was available pay at front desk secure lot quiet beds were comfortable easy check in n out
The fold out couch was broken. When we told the front desk they just said they were sorry.
We also checked in with 6 guests 3 which were children. There were only 3 towels in the room. The kids still need there own clean dry towel.
Good location, the kids liked the attached market plaza
Para el precio, pesimo.
No limpiaron el cuarto nunce
This hotel was in a wonderful spot to do all the things we had on our agenda. Close to the market, art museum, Bobblehead museum, (yes quirky, but on $5 to get in!) river walk, third ward, free trolley to a few breweries, Short Uber to the Harley museum. Rooms were clean, we ate only breakfast there which was delicious, but I LOVE a salad for breakfast. After our full day exploring we would have a beverage at the bar at the end of the day. Bartenders were friendly and fun.
The food court
It was good
A disappointing stay at the Courtyard Milwaukee Downtown. The room had a moldy odor. They brought up an ionizer air purifier, but it did little to absorb the smell. The hotel is on the slightly grittier size of downtown. Many homeless people hang out near the entrance to the hotel and some can be aggressive. I will say that the front desk people were very friendly and pleasant. However that doesn't make up for the fact the hotel needs a major upgrade in all of their rooms, especially to get rid of the moldy smell.
Great location. Clean, comfortable, and staff are friendly.
The bistro prices seemed excessive. The food was good, but not 13 dollars for an egg sandwich good.
Walking distance to some areas, excellent customer service in cafe by employees
A little more of a better attitude from one front end employee would of been nice and with a bit more of understanding if the parking and elevators to hotel. But we found our way
