Hampton Inn & Suites Hershey

The staff were incredible . The location to the park you can’t beat it. The continental breakfast was superb.

The room we had a suite with a king size bad, and it was very comfortable. I had almost everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. We had a couple of items that were broken, but they’re very good about fixing things right away. The hospitality is excellent there love that. employees are very friendly and the customer service wasexcellent. easy access to the attractions that we were going to the concert. Roadways were simple to maneuver beautiful downtown Hershey.

Everything was great. The staff and the cleanness if the room. And the breakfast was good and there was a lot of food to choose from. And the staff answered everything i asked

Convienence to our concert. Easy directions to find, comfort , great breakfast, accommodating to allow us to check in before we had to leave for our concert. Very friendly personnel .

I emailed the letter below to the General Manager of the Hershey hotel. I waited one week and he never replied. I use reviews when planning my trips so hope this helps others!!

I usual post reviews on websites but wanted to voice my concerns privately to start. Whenever I stay in Manhattan the Hampton Central is our favorite place. So of course when I was planning a family trip to Hershey I booked 2 rooms at your hotel from June 28 - July 2, even though the reviews of this Hershey Hotel were only so-so. What a mistake!!!

The picture and description of a king non smoking room was totally inaccurate. My room 109 did not a chair to relax and watch tv in! It didn’t have an iron and board because there was no closet to put it in. As seniors we prefer a walk in shower but it was not available at your hotel. To make things harder, the tub floor was very slippery and caulk had a lot of black mildew.

I received 2 text messages asking me if i needed anything but when I voiced concern I never received help. Wednesday morning at about 10:30 I asked the women at desk to please have housekeeping swap out towels in our room and 304. She wrote it down but I guess forgot to make the call before she went out front for a smoke because when we got home that night nothing was done but the friendly and helpful man at desk made sure we received what we needed.

The next day my son went down early to tell a different man at desk that his shower and toilet were clogged and nothing was draining. He waited an hour then went back and was told that no one was at hotel to fix this and insinuated it wasn’t his problem. When my son informed him it definitely was the hotel’s problem he was told “well you must be from New York”

So you see why I was reluctant to go public with this! Yes we are from New York where none of this would be acceptable to us. The New York staff is so professional at the Hampton there. Just because your hotel has a lot of families doesn’t mean service should be poor. Oh and did I mention the dog barking and waking us up!!! To add insult to injury, on 2 occasions I heard the front desk quoting prices for the same nights we were there for lower.

After posting this on google I received reply from a women who apologized (didn’t say why my room was nothing like the description) and said the hotel is dated and undergoing changes this winter. She hopes I give them another try 😅

Spacious room, plenty of daylight with good sheers so you can enjoy the daylight and keep privacy on the 1st floor. Appreciated the kitchenette and the breakfast.

Probably a 2.5. We didn’t expect 5 star service from a Hampton Inn, especially one in Hershey that caters to families and small children, but this hotel needs work. There were some good things. When we requested more towels, they were delivered quickly. The location is good…only a 10 minute drive to the park. Breakfast was what you’d expect. Convenient snacks and beverages at the front desk for purchase. The front desk crew was polite and helpful. However, the hallway carpets were dirty. We had mystery stains on the pull out mattress. There was mildew in the tub. Shortcuts were definitely taken by housekeeping. It wasn’t bad enough to find another hotel but not good enough to go back the next time we visit Hershey.
