Breakfast was a great selection.
The cleanliness of the room and pool area.
If you're looking for the Marriott expectations, this is not the hotel for you! I booked this hotel off of the reviews on the Marriott site and my prior experience with Marriott... that was my first mistake! When we got there and was unpacking the car, there was a used, dirty condom in the parking lot. I should have turned around there! We went into the room, and I noticed an odor that I can only described as someone had lived in and didn't believe in cleaning. The room itself was a little dark, but it was the ground floor towards the back. I again, went off the name and hurried up and unpacked, then ran out to get dinner, ignoring the signs. Once we returned, I was able to inspect the room a little farther. By this time my family was fast asleep. As I took the flashlight to the corners I started to notice the amount of dust, dirt, and filth! It was all along the floors. It looked like a vacuum never hit the edges! There was also mold stains on the tile flooring and bathroom ceiling. Crude all around the outlets. Rust on the venting. Dust in the filters of the heating system. I went to sleep. (I had previously checked for bed bugs and didn't see anything- the most positive thing I can say about the room!) I was awoken three hours later by some noise in the hotel and then couldn't fall back to sleep because of other people being loud. My allergies were bothering me. My nose was stuffy and throat was sore, from the filth in this room. I started looking for another hotel. At this point, I was ready to leave and check in somewhere else! A short time later, my husband woke up and I explained to him I was finding another hotel! He went to breakfast, while I looked for a hotel. He has a service dog, and he obviously took him with him. While in the buffet line, an employee told him that his service dog, that had his vest and identification on, could not be in line with him. He didn't want the confrontation, so he passed him off to a family member while he got his food. After returning to the room, he tells me what happened. Not only was this a hotel policy violation, but it was also a federal violation as well. I was heading down to ask the manager to come to the room, to show them what the condition was and check out. When doing so, the manager states that they we just looking the rules up on service dogs. This is highly disturbing that the employees do not receive disability training when being hired, let alone the General Manager not knowing the policy on such! I have since attempted to email the concerns to corporate, and I received the AI generated response. I even offered to send them pictures of the room! I will follow through with an ADA compliant with the proper authorities.
The good: The location was great. We were walking distance away from several restaurants; including a general store with an ice cream shop. The free breakfast was good, having a waffle maker is a plus. The pool and hot tub were a nice bonus after a long day. The suite was big and spacious. I was there with my two teens and after pulling out the sofa bed, we each had our own bed. I didn't use it much but the kitchenette is a great addition and would have gladly used if we spent more time there.
The bad: The DAMPNESS. Our room felt wet the moment we walked in. The sheets all had that wetness feel to them. Our brochures we picked up at the front desk were drooping after an hour in the room. It was even worse after using the shower since there was no active fan and a vent pointing out into the main suite. I was also disappointed that if I wanted to use the sofa bed, I had to set it up myself, sheets included.
Would I stay here again, well... yes I would. There are lots of perks to staying here however, I would want to check the room beforehand to make sure it's not damp.
The breakfast was ok, nothing special
Location was good
Complimentary ice cream was nice touch
Our room needed attention
Water leak onto the bedroom carpet … possibly the air conditioner?
Refrigerator was not cold … milk spoiled in 1 day
Microwave lights and clock did not work
The room size was good ,breakfast was good, staff were extremely nice and it’s very close to restaurants and the parks
The properties tub was a little rusty also it was something like a dirt ring but when we spoke to the front desk they stated most of the tubs look like that due to products they use when cleaning it peels the paint,,, also I did see a roach in the living room area and a spider in the bed and they allow pets
10 out of 10 definitely recommen. Staff was absolutely amazing and friendly. I will definitely stay here again for further vacations. Clean room nice pool great basketball court

Para ser un Marriott el mantenimiento es muy regular
First and Foremost: if you are accustomed to any decent hotel or take the Marriott brand name to mean quality, do NOT stay here. This location is individually owned and operated under the Marriott name but it does NOT come close to Marriott standards. The management company needs a major overhaul.
Location: close to Busch Gardens and Water Park, plenty of restaurants and shops close by.
Rooms: in desperate need of TLC - pictures can speak for themselves but the lack of care and maintenance in these rooms left them feeling neglected, dirty and uncomfortable for our family stay. My daughter left with a terrible cough and congestion - I’m attributing it to the terrible air quality that is coming out of the filthy vents.
Service/Cleanliness: left much to be desired; knowing it’s a longer term stay type of hotel, I knew we wouldn’t have daily cleaning service however several things we requested, said they would be taken care of and never happened.
Examples: request on trash take out (or tell us where to take it ourselves - told they would get trash from room, didn’t happen one time in our 4 night, 5 day stay
- the provided body wash was empty on day 1, asked front desk to replenish on day 1, never happened
- we are a family of 5, asked for additional towels (2 bath towels were provided at check in) - day 2 dirty towels were removed from the room, but no clean towels were left behind….ZERO towels. Husband went down to the desk that evening and requested towels as we had no way of showering; day 3 we got towels at some point in the day, in a plastic bag thrown on our entry way floor, several towels had fallen out onto the bare floor
- lobby bathroom was used multiple times through our stay, it NEVER had hand soap. Husband let the front desk know but it never was replaced (this is also the bathroom right next to the breakfast area so lord knows how many people used the bathroom, didn’t have soap to wash hands and returned to the breakfast space)
Breakfast: assorted and variety of foods however our first morning there were cases of yogurts and other items that clearly stated “Refrigeration Needed” but they were out in the common area for the span of several hours.
- pesky flies and gnats were constantly hovering in the food area and the dining area - we also ate a take out dinner in the dining area one night (bc I refused to bring additional food into our room when the trash was an issue) and flies were everywhere
Overall: do not recommend this location of Residence Inn
The ice cream at 4pm. Very welcoming staff.
Pool not open u ril 10am
Good, coffee could be better
meats
Very centrally located!
All good!
Cleanining too spaced out , and litter not picked
Staff were friendly, but the rooms weren’t clean enough to my standards. Our room in particular had a strange odor with visible dirt and smeared surfaces. Also the AC clearly isn’t working well, as we had two window units to keep the room “cool” which would be covered by the curtains at night. We booked for several nights but ended up canceling and going elsewhere.
Great staff, super helpful and free ice cream from 4-8 PM. The pool is open from 10 AM until 10 PM and there is a basketball court as well. The room is very comfortable and breakfast is nice!
For all standard services the night cost over $300, we find the price excessive. Besides that everything was good, we watched the world cup in our room and had a great time with friends.
What a great location! The rooms were clean and spacious, as well as the lobby area. The front desk staff members were very friendly, as were other personnel we encountered. The breakfast area was neat and plentiful: eggs were cage free (hard boiled or scrambled), bacon, sausage, waffles, bagels, cereals, yogurt, juices, coffee. A fun treat was Blue Bunny ice cream bars available at no charge from 4pm-8pm. Some maintenance issues: The gym had all the equipment but air conditioning was not working and it was hot (86 degrees). A window was opened, which allowed wasps to enter during workout which were eliminated. The lock to the hotel room was not functioning correctly and a maintenance worker responded that the locks need to be replaced. The best parts of this facility are the friendly and helpful staff, overall neat & clean, and the hotel’s close proximity to almost everything you might wish to visit in Williamsburg.
