Solea Palm Resort Mactan

The room is very dirty and CR was stinky. Obviously one of the bed sheets wasnt replace with new sheets. The pool water was really dirty. We were given room at 6PM already.

I’ve stayed at this resort before and thought it was decent, which is why I decided to come back. Unfortunately, this recent stay was very disappointing.

The check-in process was poor, and there was no notice or disclosure that the second-floor area was under construction. When we got to the elevator, the button for the second floor was taped over, so we accidentally pressed the third floor and later found out the second floor was inaccessible by elevator due to construction. We ended up using the stairs just to reach our room.

The hallway leading to the room was dusty and noisy because of the ongoing construction. Once inside the room, it was still dusty and extremely hot. There was also no hand soap provided, which is a basic necessity that should already be available for guests.

Considering I paid 8,000 pesos per night, the overall experience did not feel worth the price or up to resort standards. To make things worse, the breakfast buffet had very poor food selections.

Overall, this stay was far below expectations compared to my previous visit.

Very disappointed with our stay at Solea Mactan Resort. The resort is very overpriced for the quality of experience they provide.

The pools were dirty and had a very strong chlorine smell. The rooms were also dirty, old, and very hot, making it uncomfortable to relax. Even the elevators were extremely hot and not functioning properly most of the time. Overall, the facilities felt poorly maintained and outdated.

The only good thing about this resort is the beach area, which was nice. But aside from that, the experience did not match the high price at all.

Definitely not worth the money, and unfortunately we were totally unhappy with our stay

Staff, the waiting , not getting served for ages, price was high for a building that's falling apart, free airport shuttle I thought.

Disgusting bathrooms filled with mold

While the overall experience was enjoyable, the hotel itself does show signs of being a little tired in certain areas. Some of the finer details — particularly in the rooms and finishes — are noticeable, especially from an adult perspective. It doesn’t necessarily take away from the stay, but it’s something worth noting if you’re expecting a more polished or modern feel throughout. Additionally, some of the facilities were closed during our stay due to maintenance, and from what I’ve since read, this seems to be a fairly common theme — which is a bit disappointing when you’re expecting full access to what’s advertised.

It’s not a dislike but it say you go to Bohol from here like we did it’s a huge day. Maybe stay in Bohol a night as well.
The packed breakfast was 3 bread rolls and 2 eggs which compared to the included buffet could include a much better cold selection- was surprised given everything else was so great.

Would love it if they had an on site cooking class. Only one on island is a demonstration with limited involvement and something I think they would do well.

Birthdays are well celebrated by staff who call themselves the Solea family.

There was one young gentlemen there as a waiter, I believe his name way Raymond, he was fantastic. Really world class, so friendly and professional and the cleaning lady was really so sweet and professional, she checked in everyday to see if I was okay, if I needed anything. She was very nice .

But the main thing, the location, it’s far away from everything but that’s okay it’s a taxi ride away , the problem is the location of the hotel, I didn’t feel safe from the entrance onwards. I couldn’t walk anywhere.
