Nice historical hotel, walkable to parts of the city
Pros:

Surprisingly walkable to shops and restaurants, or hop across the street for a quick breakfast. Lots of history in the hotel and nearby. Decent rooms and nice staff. The downstairs bar had a speakeasy feel and lots of great vinyls.

Constantly getting lost inside it!!! There are absolutely no signs to direct you once you leave lobby & it shouldn’t be up to other guests to direct me but it was .
Wasn’t most comfortable bed of my trip either.

This facility is historic yet modern, functional yet artful, comfortable and accommodating. We will be back soon. Only reason not full stars is because the AC was a little too loud and the team could not get it fixed during our stay.

Soulful Stays & Secret Lounges
Pros:

I enjoyed a relaxing, two-night stay at this luxury hotel in March. The hotel opened in the fall of 2019 within the repurposed, renovated Central Station building, where one can still catch a train. My two-queen bed room had blues music playing when I first walked in, using my digital key from Hilton on my phone. The TV was on and displayed, "Welcome Rodney". I was like, "Who in the world is Rodney?!" Maybe he was the guy who booked the room for me? Who knows, but I got a kick out of it.

During my stay, I frequented the onsite cocktail bar and lounge, Eight & Sand, a couple times. Good times can be had in the cozy, soulful atmosphere, where a rotation of female DJs spin vinyl records on Thursday evenings for Ladies' Night. Classy. I had to look up it up, but "Eight and sand" is a railroad term wishing for a safe and fast trip, derived from placing a train's throttle in the eighth (fastest) notch and using sand on tracks for traction. It represents maximum speed with secure traction, commonly used as a phrase for a successful journey.

Bonus tip: Don't miss the opportunity to check out the secret listening lounge behind the Eight & Sand lounge & bar.
