Golders Park Hotel

I was told I'd need 'upgraded' to room 7 as my original room was in an outbuilding - up an alley way with a flickering light . When I saw how bad room 7 was I asked to see the other one .... but decided against it was tiny and the door was on the outside and I wouldn't have felt safe .
So I asked if my room could be cleaned - it was filthy - also no spoon , one coat hanger (and one broken)
No tv as the ariel was the wrong connection , broken window latch ....
It was agreed that the cleaner would go in whilst I was out for the day . When I came back , the Ariel had been replaced - I had a teaspoon and dessert spoon - the cleaner said he'd cleaned the window /sill and bathroom (which was fine tbf) . I felt a bit sorry for him as it appeared there was no real direction or routine regarding cleaning . Why was it not done prior to my arrival . It remained grimy and I just decided to suck it up for the next couple of days . Another cleaner knocked the next day and asked if I needed anything , milk , towels etc - which was nice but I wonder if this was normal or because I'd complained . I asked the nice gentleman on reception if he'd read the reviews ( I wish I had earlier) because nothing seemed to have changed - it may be budget but all guests are entitled to cleanliness at the very least ! I hope things change but I won't be returning .

There was dirt running down the wall and stains on every single one
The window was broken so couldn’t close it properly
Cobwebs on all the light fittings
The bathroom was so dirty I couldn’t even have a shower
And outside my window there were cigarette butts all over the flat roof outside

Stair carpet was dirty. Very run down building Smell of weed in building and cigarette smell in our bathroom coming from downstairs.

Poorly maintained and poor standard accomodation. Probably the worst place we've ever stayed

Our room consisted of a small double bed and a single bed. The flooring was in poor condition, worn away and shabby to say the least. The room was dirty, dusty skirting boards and several marks on the walls.
You could feel the springs of the mattress on the double bed. No curtains on window just thin plastic blinds. Difficult to close the windows due to bars and the latch being broken.
Cheap metal framed beds, headboards that were crooked and not fixed to bed or wall so they banged every time we moved or breathed.

Only one main light worked in the bedroom area.

Room was very noisy and at 6am several trollies were wheeled past right outside our window.

Bathroom - Shabby, poorly maintained and dirty.
The tap at the basin was not secure and twisted when turning on the water
Only hot or warm water available. Toilet seat broken.



Yes this is a budget hotel however it fell well below any reasonable standard of cleanliness and repair. In my opinion it should have 1 star at the most
We would definitely not return or advise anyone else to stay here.

The room was dirty mould all over toilet window was broke headboard was broke holes in wall.pipes showing shower was horrendoeus water.filled up on base toilet base was green and black inside

The room was dirty. There was a used pimple pach. And the"cleaners" left it there everyday. On the second day they haven't change the towels. Bed cover was full of dust and the extra pillows were also very dirty.

The parking was very limited, maybe 5 spaces for the whole hotel, it isn't advertised as this. We were advised to just park in front of the other cars which resulted in us blocking everyone in and so caused problems the next morning.

No staff on reception, waited 45 to check in, then another 20 for them to clean a room. Room still wasn't clean. Stains on bedding, mold everywhere, broken toilet seat, dodgy door lock. Parking was a nightmare despite being advertised as parking available. Considered going somewhere else whilst waiting for our room but room prices due to short notice forced us to go ahead with booking. Let in the more without showering due to the condition of the bathroom. Partner also slept in a sleeping bag rather than use the bedding.

The shower, the drain not working properly. The water is stocked and might overflow if you use the shower in a period of time.

Nothing I didn't like except maybe needs a lick of paint
