Very atmospheric old haveli.
Narayan, the care taker was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He made our stay memorable.
The access to rooms was through very steep steps that could be challenging.
Very kind and helpful manager. Great breakfast each day. Air conditioned and room was styled in the manner of a Haveli with a four poster bed and stained glass windows. A taste of the grand days of India
Difficult location to find at night - tucked away in a corner of the pol. It was, however, on the heritage walking trail being a historic building.

The old-charm heritage look of the house was great. The cook in the hotel was very helpful and helped us with the micro needs of our toddler.
it's a difficult to find the hotel and reach it, as it's behind the busiest roads of old Ahmedabad city. The experience of reaching the hotel was tiring. No fault of the hotel though. Cabs or cars can't go inside the old city lanes, so one would have to walk to the hotel in the small lanes. I would only recommend this to someone who wants to live in the old city and experience things walking. There is much to see in the old city as well if you are interested in temples, markets, architecture. But if you are a tourist who wants to explore all the parts of Ahmedabad then this might not be the best choice for you just because commuting from here to any other attraction (outside old city) will take significant time

The hosts are exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. The suites are charming and comfortable and the food was good too. Highly recommended!
We did not stay at the property.
When we called them to get directions, they told us electricity was gone and wasn't expected back til 9-10pm. We asked for a refund but were refused. We decided to book at another place as we didn't want to be without electricity for so long.

This is a great place to stay if you want to experience the old city of Ahmedabad. Lakshman-bhai, the caretaker, was extremely helpful in just about everything and very friendly, especially getting my many bags up a steep staircase and meeting out on the road to make sure I can find the place.
This place is in the old city, so there will be noise around the clock. It is part of the experience though (and seeing the old city compensates for this), so do expect this if you are booking. There are of course quieter parts of the day and evening/night.
Expect to pay cash if their credit card machines are not working.
Great location, beautiful building, nice breakfast and excellent host.
Property is very traditional, opposite of modern, as well is very romantic if you travel with your partner and brings you into the another world, another time.

Bathroom need to be fixed, shower was spreading water all over and I would recommend better gazer so 2people can enjoy warm water after each other.
Really beautiful period building, close to shops and immersed in the beauty of the old town. The caretaker Narayan went above and beyond to make us feel at home, prepared really delicious food for us and suggested local shops for our purchases.
Everything about this Haveli is exquisite. It was homely and didn't feel 'touristy'. The home cooked Gujrati food was adapted expertly by Narayan and we couldn't fault his warm welcome and professionalism. We shall certainly be back.
A perfect stay. No negatives. If you like history and authenticity this is the place for you. If you want a chain of hotels you can find anywhere in the world then this place is not for you.
