location
room, experience with staff, overall comfort
Lovely hotel across the street from Philadelphia City Hall and a very short walk to Reading Terminal Market.
1. Hotel staff did not permit us to use restrooms outside workout room.
2. Paid for included breakfast. Was told it included anything on menu. Then charged for "overage." Explanation of the way it works should be provided prior to customers ordering.
Excellent location.
The location was great, right across from the Reading Food Market & walkable to most tourist attractions.
The check-in felt like the staff was trying to upsell me on a better room. For only $70 I could get a two bedroom suite. Why does a single guy need a two bedroom suite?
Then for $50, I could get a bigger room.
If I wanted a bigger room, I would’ve booked one. Of course, the room that I wanted was not available two hours before official check in time, despite the hotel, seeming half empty. Yet these bigger rooms were all available.
La atención, instalaciones y ubicación
The hotel overall was very nice. Really love the history. Room was well appointed. But the pillows were awful. Round cylinder type pillows that were very high and they were terrible for one's neck. Bed was very hard. Towels very rough. It would be nice if there was a towel rack at the sink for one's face or hand towel. And please fix the curtain so that the gap at the end does not expose sunlight, maybe a snap on the wall to snap the end to to fix the issue. This property is close to the Convention Center and Reading Market, which unfortunately closes at 6PM so if you want to check it out make sure you go before 6pm.
Excellent location, gorgeous rooms, amazing staff
Presque tout
La restauration n’est pas à la hauteur
We decided on the Notary Hotel due to its location and good reviews. When checking in, Diana was very kind and also upgraded us to the suite as I'm a Titanium member. The room was very spacious with a separate living room with sofa bed. Such great service! Around 7 PM when coming back from dinner, we can hear the people in the room next to us and they were super loud with music playing. I went downstairs and Jamil was great and offered to move us to a different floor (but same room type). Again, fantastic service!
As part of the destination fee, you get a couple of drinks included (which can be redeemed at the bar). In addition, there is a $15/day F&B credit, which we used at breakfast for the kids. As part of the Titanium benefits, we had breakfast at the bar and they comp the item which you select off the menu. Our waitress was very attentive and kind (can't remember her name) and service was fantastic!
The location of the hotel was great and near many of tourist attractions (typically a 10-15 minute walk). The area around the hotel seemed very safe with a good police presence at all times (especially during the day since there is a courthouse next door).
Overall great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Location was amazing and security staff was great. Excellent service and room was clean. Unfortunately they didn’t have my disability room but they brought a shower chair right away. We were there for volleyball tournament. 3 nights. Amazing staff.
Parking only valet and was very expensive.
