I was unfairly charged for breakfast.

We were charged an additional US$39, with the explanation that there was a maximum breakfast allowance for four people. However, my Booking.com reservation clearly stated that breakfast was included in the room rate, with no restrictions or limitations mentioned.

After my friends ended up paying the incorrect charge, I went to the front desk to request that the issue be resolved, but they did not help. Instead, they simply referred me to the restaurant.

At the restaurant, after I explained the entire situation, the manager agreed to refund US$39 to the same credit card that was used to book the room. To my surprise, instead of processing the refund, they charged my card an additional US$39.

I filed a complaint with Booking.com, but I have not received any response so far.

I am still waiting for the refund of the incorrect US$39 charge, as well as the US$39 that the restaurant manager agreed to refund.

Pros:

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Notary Hotel! The location is perfect for exploring the city, and the view from our room was truly unbeatable.What really made our trip memorable, though, was the incredible staff. Tokyo at the front desk greeted us with so much enthusiasm and kindly offered us a room upgrade; she was absolutely lovely and made us feel welcome right away. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, where Claude took excellent care of us and was incredibly nice. The restaurant had surprisingly reasonable prices. Between the prime location, stunning views, and top-tier hospitality from Tokyo and Claude, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back!

Lovely Boutique style hotel in the heart of Philly!
Pros:

Location was fantastic. Reception desk staff was kind an friendly. Beds and pillows were super comfy BUT the sheets are a bit crunchy and loud. Great in room coffee very appreciated, spacious rooms and the AC worked well which was much needed for the week we were there! Bar was nice but small. We were in for a quick one night stay for the World Cup right before the July 4th holiday. The city was a buzz. Would go back!

Need softer sheets but beds super comfy. It was a quick one night stay so we didn't use many facilities. Would go back again.

The location was ideal.

Cons:

The bathroom was cramped. The toilet was too low to the floor. There needs to be a fridge in the room. Since downtown Philadelphia is full of places to eat, there was no place to keep any left overs or snacks. Also, there was no place to get late night snacks in the hotel.

Location, it was close to everything. You can visit most city attractions walking from the hotel.

Cons:

Staff. In breakfast they were very rude. Also breakfast options are very poor.
