Please note, the property offers valet parking only and it costs £30 per day. Guests must not park their own car unless using Clifford's car park opposite, which is run by the council. Please be aware that the Clifford's Tower is undertaking some vital conservation works to protect the tower and make improvements for visitors - this will restrict your view of the tower slightly from some of the rooms, but everything will be back to normal later this year. Sorry for the inconvenience

Great location, staff were really polite and helpful.

Cons:

Lobby renovations were ongoing, not ideal but we received prior notification the day before. Also the breakfast buffet was a bit chaotic and disorganised.

Pros:

Excellent location, parking is great. Breakfast is wonderful- everything is fresh and plenty even you turn up in the last minute! The staff are all friendly and helpful.

Bad toxic smelling
Pros:

The bed

Cons:

Way to much scented products on staff and in common area, room was loud with people talking and singing in hallway at 6 am, bath tub would not drain properly. Could not go into dining area for a coffee without paying the buffet fee. Had a serious allergic reaction to the carrot cake.

Very enjoyable visit to York
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent, wide variety and very high standard.
My room was comfortable, high standard of cleanliness both in room and bathroom…lovely big fluffy towels. Nice surprise to find the tea tray with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Much appreciated that there was a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. All these things make for a comfortable stay.
The hotel was in the perfect location for our sightseeing visits.

Cons:

Not that the hotel could change but if I stayed again, I would see if there was a room that had a walk in shower.

My sister and I would definitely book this hotel again if visiting York.
Pros:

A lovely breakfast room and good choice of food. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The initial hotel room appeared dark with an awful view out the back of a roof, wall and chimney brest. Will, in Reception was helpful and offered us a better room that wasn't gloomy.

Cons:

Over priced really . 3 Star rating experience.
Pros:

Great location. Seemed like staff shortage with regards to Valet parking and Reception.

Not a pleasant stay and certainly not 4 star standard. Over-priced, could have received better value elsewhere in York.

Hotel was undergoing renovation which is totally unacceptable for the price we paid.
There was no guest lounge which we expect from a 4 star hotel.
Breakfast offerings could have been better.
Our room had the smallest dated bathroom we have ever seen. Shower over the bath with a shower curtain - really poor show for a 4 star Hilton. Basin tap was so close to edge of basin that it was impossible to use it without water going all over the counter.
No amenities like shower cap, etc . Shower gel ran out on second day. Tissues were not replenished. Poor housekeeping.
The couch was made up in our room for whatever reason as we did not request it, resulting in lack of space . I had to ask the housekeeping staff member to close the couch on our second day there.
