Historic charm
Only wanted coffee and toast for breakfast. Priced well at $15 per person.
Staff were exceptional...not too formal, not too officious, not too familiar, just right.
Nothing
We loved the location.
The step up into the bathroom and no fan in the bathroom and the bedroom was very dark.
Lovely hotel. Staff were very polite and accommodating. The location is fantastic. Close to the waterfront and city centre. Happy hour was our regular return time to the hotel, and it was a very cosy and comfortable spot to spend several hours. The only downside was that you had to leave again to return to the night air to find dinner options.
The hotel did not have dinner or room service available. There were limited pillow options. For those that need flat pillows, there were no options.
The quirky nature of the hotels, stairs going everywhere, statues and stories in every nook and cranny. Our room had huge high ceilings and a separate area for the sitting in. Which we did with a hot drink and a book at the end of the day. Staff were helpful
Buffet Breakfast was awful - we could have mentioned it - but others appeared to be OK with it so it may just be us. We ended up going out for breakfast even though it was included in our room rate. Even the back room that the breakfast is served in is a bit soulless compared to the rest of the hotel
Also - we do not like the plastic mattress protectors - they just make it hot in bed - easy remedy remove. I wish hotels use the cotton protectors if they believe that a mattress protector is necessary.
It was very cosy and cute. The little old newspaper was a nice touch. Great location, clean cosy rooms and friendly staff. Decent mini bar.
Didn’t have a pool or gym.
Central and charming reminder of yesteryear. The Gallery had an amazing exhibition and the pianist at the bar was very relaxing. I was reminded of the street pianist Natalie Yrayling who was a regular at Hadleys for many years. Perhaps she could be included in the memorabilia.

Old world charm, beautiful interior
I loved it all
I loved the history of the hotel. Ash on reception was great.
The service was friendly and helpful.
Ash was an absolute delight! He exhibited wonderful customer service.
No room service, we have stayed here in the past and the room service was exceptional.
The breakfast area was relocated from the beautiful area it once was.
The hotel is beautifully historical and loved all the artworks. The location is great. The breakfast was really good.
The lift was under maintenance, and there are lots of stairs. BUT the staff were brilliant and would take your bags to your room if requested.
Staff were kind and accommodating, the room was tidy and clean, the breakfast was amazing, the location was perfect and everything was lovely
Location, old style look and feel
Rooms could have had more light-for example an overhead light or stronger lamp would have been good for reading
Lots of good memories
