Meerdere haren gevonden in bed en bad. Zeer gehorig verblijf. Slaapkamer is niet donker te krijgen, ook niet 's nachts. Deur in slaapkamer zou al helpen om het in de nacht donker te maken.
One of the most interesting “hotels” I have ever stayed in (both in a good way and a bad way). It was silent and still like a museum, but it also didn’t feel precious and untouchable/unlivable. Location was “chef’s kiss”.
The AI-focused experience. Weeks before we arrived, we had to fill out a “prove your identity” form online (with pictures of self and legal ID - something I am loathe to send over the internet). At check-in, there was a bobble at Booking.com sending incorrect CC info to the property, which left us feeling a bit stranded and wondering what to do - there were no persons on property to help - and ultimately had us interfacing with an AI “concierge” (it’s creepy NOT endearing when a computer calls you by your first name). Combined with the fact that we saw and heard absolutely no one else on the property, this “human-less-ness” felt a little like Act I of a horror movie…I say this in humored hindsight.
The creative decorations throughout the building and in our room were marvelous. Many architectural features of the building were left intact to our delight. The room was cleverly decorated and delightful.
Some features were not well thought out. There was no place to put your soap in the clawfoot bathtub/shower. There were no towel racks or hooks in the room with the bathtub. There was only one night stand and lamp on one side of the King sized bed, but we each wanted to read a book before falling asleep. Little things that could make a big difference.
As someone new to Rochester, we loved this location! It's a quiet neighborhood right across from the Memorial Art Gallery and an easy walk to great food spots. The absolute best part is the 'cool factor'—staying in a historic old school gives the space so much unique character. Highly recommend!
We loved everything, but just know what to expect: it is a contactless setup. If you need a front desk person catering to your needs or an elevator, this may not be for you. But if you are independent and fit enough for stairs, you will love the history and vibe of this place as much as we did!
Clean, comfortable, nice area (University of Rochester area). Very artsy neighborhood, good places to eat and explore. Very interesting place with its modern rooms in a "classroom" setting. Chalk should be provided to doodle on the blackboards - lo
It was explained that because the building is registered as a historic site, no elevator could be installed. Therefore, suitcases had to be carried up / down four flights of stairs. Help was available checking in, not checking out.
Was not even aware breakfast was available. Cute idea in terms the idea of converting the school. But not a comfortable place to stay. It was very hard to close the drapes, so we were awakened by bright sunshine. There was no box spring on the bed, and the mattress was not comfortable. Pillows were aweful.
See above. We left after the first night, and unfortunately had to pay for a second night. Our stay was very disappointing.
It was peaceful
Lack of privacy
Love it and always a first choice
No complaints
WC not separated from the room with no privacy! Unbelievable
Easy access clean quiet location
Poorly designed hotel rooms with no towel racks or hooks . We were hanging out towels on doors . No tissue boxes & not even a cup in the bathroom . Sagging mattresses & nylon sheets topped it off - oh & there are no elevators so we dragged our luggage up 3 flights of stairs . We checked out 3 rooms & changed rooms once ( our first room had a toilet in the sleeping area ) so this is an educated review !
See above !!
