The bar maid and all emplyees were excellent
Beautiful hotel. Super nice staff. They offer a great breakfast.
Beautiful historic house in the perfect location across from the Art Museum and Botanical Garden. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room and lovely breakfast.
Nothing
The breakfast was good. Tasty scones. The food was pretty average but the setting is lovely.
My only (small) disappointment was the old under the window HVAC unit. It always amazes me that so many American hotels use these things when Mitsubishi splits are quieter and more efficient. I would have thought a historic property would have a better ventilation system. But the room was spacious, comfy and well appointed.
We spent 2 nights at the Glidden House while visiting Cleveland. The Hotel is lovely, in a former mansion, right near Case Western University and the museum district. It is also very close to Little Italy. The rooms are lovely, well appointed and comfortable. There is a patio on the side of the building which is great for relaxing and enjoying a book or the newspaper on a warm day and a small bar in the lobby for cocktails. Breakfast is served daily and was OK. Choices included eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, pastries and muffins, fruit and oatmeal. The eggs and other items were lukewarm at best and probably could do with a different way of keeping things heated. The hotel is very quiet at night. Diners have a choice to eat in a dining room or a sun room just off where the food is served. The sunroom is lovely and the best choice. There is parking available on site for a fee.
Localização
Location
Coffee quality poor and no real cream or good milk choices for coffee. Just artificial creamer and 2% milk.
Location
A bit dated. And I was charged for parking, which was not indicated on booking.com when I reserved this.
Wine at the bar till 11pm, breakfast was good. Love the staff everywhere, the concierge was amazing, the staff in the dinning room were so sweet.
The rooms were no different then a Quality Inn, other than additional $90 on a Sunday night
Would have liked a small info booklet on the Mansion, like a 5x7 20 page history account. the Mansion was beautiful
I spoke to Tom the GM before I went and he was so kind and helpful, he even had gifts for us since it was my mom’s birthday while we were there. It was the perfect location for us. James was the first person we met walking into this beautiful quaint English style bed-and-breakfast. James was warmhearted, attentive helpful and just a delight to speak to. The pillows were perfect and breakfast was delicious with options. Having cocktails in the lobby bar in the evening was fun as well. Bravo Glidden House!!
Charming old building with modern updates. Convenient to so many great attractions!
Uncomfortable pillows. Decent breakfast compared to a Holiday Inn, but not up to the standards of a really special hotel.
With few exceptions this property was far superior to what I was expecting. It had beautiful and spacious public rooms including a bar and a breakfast room. An all day coffee, tea and water set up and an included breakfast. The breakfast had eggs, sausage and waffles--with a variety of toppings from salsa to the eggs to chocolate chips for the waffles. Fruit, yogurt, granola and oatmeal, pastries, coffee, tea and juices. The art lining the hallways was beautiful and interesting. I would have liked a guide to the art! And we arrived at 10:45 in the morning for an 11:00 tour at the nearby museum and just wanted to park at the hotel, but they were all ready to check us in, even that early. Very welcoming. Room was spacious and well appointed with a large bench that was perfect for luggage, a seating chair, a desk, lamps and usb ports. You could walk to all the museums, a coffee shop just behind the hotel and a very nice French restaurant about a block away.
The bed was perhaps the softest I've ever tried to sleep on. The walls are so thin, I could literally hear the man in the next room snoring, and there is really no "room darkening" blinds, so the room is never really dark.
Location and comfort.
Lack of restaurant, although several excellent restaurants nearby, as well fast food not far.
Had such high hopes based on the reviews that we would have a wonderful anniversary weekend, boy was I disappointed. Booked a king suite…..checked in and was told, “the only thing is, we don’t have the king suite you reserved, so we put you in a queen suite”. Buyer beware, they apparently only have 1 king suite and so whoever reserved one and gets there first, gets it….why in the world would you accept more than one reservation for a king suite if you only have 1??? She clearly has had to disappoint many guests with this news and she’s not sure why they don’t change the website….
So here we are, left with a queen suite - room 323- and we head up there, open the door and are blasted with a heat like we’ve never felt before…literally 107 degrees in the room…can’t even spend a minute in there. We go downstairs and tell her it’s 107…I think she doesn’t believe us and sends the concierge up there to check the room and sure enough, he confirms it’s 107 and he couldn’t stand to be in there any longer to try and troubleshoot it. He calls someone else who said he had just fixed it today….guess not. Even if they could get it turned off, there was no way that room was cooling down enough to sleep in tonight. They have no other suites to offer, and only a king room for the first night of our three night stay, so we’d have to hope the queen suite would be fixed tomorrow, not a chance we were willing to take, better to cut our losses after 2 major issues. We cancelled the reservation (she said she wouldn’t charge us a cancellation fee…gee thanks…). Had to book another hotel on the fly, not as nice, but at least we have someplace to sleep.
Breakfast and dining room was exquisite.
That we only stayed 1 night.
