Perfect "base camp" to explore the "Vulkanpark" around Mayen
Pros:

La constance dans la qualité. Le calme (la seule source de bruit la nuit est le ruisseau qui longe le site de l'hotel), le site au pied de deux volcans (éteints !! depuis lurette) et toutes les resources du "Vulkanpark", le charme de l'hotel, le breakfast face au jardin, les chambres accueillantes.

Cons:

Le breakfast est un peu "dürftig".

Het hotel voldeed niet aan onze verwachtingen

Mooi ligging in het bos. Het heeft potentie om een goed hotel te worden.

Achterstallig onderhoud buitenom
Weinig gasten, weinig faciliteiten en niet altijd personeel aanwezig( ‘s avonds moest je zelf afsluiten)

Genau das Richtige, wenn man dem Lärm einer (Groß-)Stadt entfliehen und Zeit für sich haben möchte.
Pros:

Abseits der Straße, an Wald und Wiesen gelegen, lädt das Hotel ein, in die Vergangenheit zu reisen: Es stammt aus jener Zeit, als die bundesdeutsche Mittelklasse in den Restaurants solcher Unterkünfte zu größeren Familienfeiern zusammenkam. Davon geblieben sind die idyllische Umgebung und vor allem die Ruhe vom Großstadt-Trubel. Das Hotel lädt ein, die Seele baumeln zu lassen oder sich von Wanderungen bzw. Radtouren zu erholen.

Cons:

Im Juli/August 2026 waren Bar und Restaurant geschlossen. Im Vorstellungstext des Hotels liest man das zwischen den Zeilen. Aber dennoch konnte man sich mit (alkoholischen) Getränken vor Ort versorgen.
