Pros:

I booked this for one night too short of what I actually needed, and the staff was kind and easily able to extend us out one more night. I appreciated how quick and easy that process was.

Cons:

Something happened with my Booking.com reservation where it changed my name to Kyle. I’m certain I didn’t do that, I don’t even know a Kyle (haha), and all my confirmations had my name correct. I had to basically convince the hotel that my name is not Kyle and my husband’s name is not Kyle (my wife’s name is Jessica). They almost didn’t honor our reservation, which was pre-paid and we wouldn’t have gotten any of the money back. This was a very stressful start to our trip and seemed entirely unnecessary.

Booking.com did not advertise the hotel well. I thought we were booking a “normal” standard hotel but this was an old nun’s convent. While this is certainly a historical location and a beautiful building, we should have known this before deciding to book. We were shocked to walk in and basically be in an old church. Ultimately not a big deal, but Booking.com needs to be better about that so other people aren’t taken off guard, too.

For the hotel itself, when they would “clean” the room, it was just giving new bathroom towels and emptying that garbage. They didn’t make the bed or clean up anything else like normally done in a hotel. Also not really a big deal, but when we are staying at a hotel and paying a good amount of money, it would be nice to at least have the basic amenities offered when the hotel doesn’t offer any others.

There were no dressers at all and a total of 4 hangers were in the closet. There was one desk with a drawer, but the handle was broken off.

The water filling machine was out of service the entire stay and there was nowhere else to get water at the hotel. They provided two tiny water bottles, which was nice, but not nearly enough. We had to go to the gas stations down the street just to get water, which was an inconvenience.

Historic Hotel
Pros:

The historic appearance and beauty. Comfortable bed and large shower. Nice breakfast selections. Lovely bar area and friendly staff.

Cons:

Only about half of the channels on the TV were available. Low shower pressure and bathroom needed painting and repair of towel bars.

Pros:

Breakfast was yummy. They had the same thing everyday. The hotel was clean and the staff was so friendly.

Cons:

I didn’t like that there was just one microwave and it was on the floor not in the rooms. There’s also no parking at the hotel. You have to pay everyday elsewhere to park.

Historic boutique hotel
Pros:

Cool building with lots of history. Staff were exceptionally nice. Let me check in at 10am. Shower had full door. It was a quirky place that reminded me of European boutique hotels

Cons:

There is a LOT of paintings and photos from when it was a convent. I think that’s cool but if you’re put off by religious imagery be warned
