Very old and mismanaged
Pros:

The rooms on the street side are super noisy, so I ended up switching my room for the first time that i ended up with a room with AC issues they could not fix it so I had to move again and then ended up with the room with plumbing issues and had water leak in my bathroom. Im not recommending this hotel.

The staff was good, but we were disappointed with the room not being as advertised. Not a good value
Pros:

Minor issues with towels, A/C not cooling, ice maker/ chilled water on floor was not functioning and insufficient number of coffee k-cups in the room.

Cons:

Some facilities mentioned above were not in good working order. Room was advertised as a Deluxe King but was a very minimum sized King room without any "deluxe" features. Also, the room was advertised to have a "City View", but the only view is of a rooftop.

Disastrous experience
Pros:

Clean room but loud pipes.
Worst part was the hotel assigned another guest to my room and I was waken up from my sleep at 1:30 am when the other guest open my door before quickly closing it. When asked, the front desk apologized profusely and said he would "make everything alright" for me.
The next morning at check out, the staff Manning the front desk told me there was nothing he could do despite of whatever front desk had previously promised.
What happened overnight was a total disaster for a hotel. The response from the front desk the next morning was an insult.
Was a returning guest. Not anymore.

Pros:

La localisation géographique de l'hôtel, l'accès très simple via BART

Cons:

Elements were stolen in my room, the staff members weren't concerned and didn't do anything about it. They didn't show professionalism and just waited until the end of the stay without providing any solutions.

Not for me
Pros:

Front desk staff were great and there was one good waitress. But if you want long wait times for someone to come and take your table order for breakfast, an uncomfortable bed in a cold room with a leaky shower, then this is the hotel for you.

Reasonable stay in the heart of Berkeley
Pros:

Location was great and room was spacious.

Cons:

Room did not get cleaned or serviced till late afternoon/evening and that too after reminders.

One night stay after a concert
Pros:

Cute and comfortable historical hotel in the center of the downtown of Berkeley. Close to the Greek Theater. Very easy access to all main attractions.

Hotel Shattuck-great find
Pros:

Our stay at Hotel Shattuck turned a family visit into something special. Being able to bring our pup along changed everything, especially since she was warmly welcomed at the Charming bar and restaurant. The staff made us feel cared for at every turn. Our room was a peaceful retreat, both cozy and quiet. I would happily return.

Quick Getaway for 20-year Anniversary Trip
Pros:

The hotel is wonderful, my wife loved the whole experience. Complimentary bottle of wine was an amazing touch! Highly recommend, we will be back for sure!
