Franck at breakfast was very attentive during breakfast, was able to assist us with directions and other things we needed

Great location with Metro access 40m from hotel. Spacious room with lots of amenities.

Right in the center and the metro or tube was just opposite connecting the whole of paris. Could not go wrong. There were several Chinese, Indian and Italian restaurants close by. So food was not an issue at all. The breakfast was very good. And the staff polite and brilliant. Would recommend and stay here again. Took the room on the 5th floor so had a good view of the night eiffel tower. Brilliant.

This hotel has an excellent metro connections and extremely friendly staff. They let us check in right away, which may not always happen but was so helpful.

Excellent location, with easy access to the metro outside the hotel. La République also has plenty to offer for food and convenience.

UPDATE: A Crowne Plaza Experience I Would Strongly Recommend Avoiding

I have had to update my original Tripadvisor review because the issues with this hotel keep growing.

What started as a disappointing stay has now become an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience involving refunds, unexplained charges and, most importantly, a complete failure by the hotel to properly address my concerns.

I am a long-standing IHG guest and Platinum Elite Ambassador, and I have stayed at many IHG properties around the world. I therefore have a good understanding of the level of service and customer care I should expect from an IHG hotel. Sadly, my experience at the Crowne Plaza Paris – République has been very different.

I originally booked four nights for my son. Unfortunately, due to a family illness, he had to cut his trip short and return to Australia. He gave the hotel 24 hours’ notice that he needed to leave.

Despite this, the hotel only refunded one night and charged for the other. I have repeatedly asked the hotel to explain why I was charged for a cancellation night when 24 hours’ notice was provided, but I have still not received a satisfactory explanation.

The hotel also cancelled the entire booking rather than simply adjusting it, meaning that the associated IHG points and qualifying night credit were lost. My son also sent me photographs of stained towels in the room. This is certainly not what I would expect from a Crowne Plaza hotel.

Unfortunately, the situation has now become even more concerning.

The hotel has subsequently charged my credit card a further €283 without my authorisation. I have no idea how they got my credit card details.

When I challenged this, Mr Le Boulaire told me that the hotel had already refunded me twice. This is simply not correct. I have checked my credit card account carefully and it shows only one refund.

I have made this clear to the hotel, yet Mr Le Boulaire has failed to properly address this issue or the other concerns I have raised.

I therefore expected the General Manager, Christophe Charolles, to personally intervene and resolve the matter. Unfortunately, I have also found the response from management extremely disappointing. My concerns remain unanswered and avoided. Not what I would expect from senior management of an international hotel.

At this point, my concerns include the unexplained cancellation charge, the incomplete refund, the unauthorised €283 credit-card charge, the incorrect claim that I have received two refunds, the cancellation of the entire booking, the loss of IHG points and qualifying night credit, the condition of the room, and the hotel’s continued failure to properly address my complaint.

I have had to update this review because, rather than the situation being resolved, the problems have continued to grow.

I have given the hotel every opportunity to resolve this privately and reasonably. Instead, I continue to receive responses that fail to address the substance of my concerns, while further charges have appeared on my credit card. I believe it’s important that future guests are aware of the standards of this hotel.

As an experienced IHG guest, I find the way this entire matter has been handled extremely disappointing. The issue is now about much more than the money. It is about accountability, communication and basic customer service.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that other IHG members think very carefully before booking this hotel.

In fact, based on the way my complaint has been handled from the initial booking issue through to the latest unauthorised credit-card charge, this is one IHG hotel that I would strongly recommend avoiding.

I sincerely hope that senior management eventually takes responsibility for reviewing the complete history of this matter and addresses every concern I have raised.

I will continue to update this review should further issues arise or, hopefully, if the hotel finally provides a satisfactory resolution.

Location and staff! The best 2 things about this hotel.

On each visit to Paris, we make it a point to select a new neighborhood or district for our accommodation, allowing us to discover fresh experiences. This time, we chose The Crown Plaza in the 11th district. We were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of restaurants within walking distance, offering a wide variety of dining options. The hotel itself is welcoming and well-maintained, with our bedsheets being changed daily, which is a delightful, albeit unexpected, touch. The service is excellent, and the hotel's location feels very secure. We truly value the convenience of nearby amenities such as Starbucks, a pharmacy, and a grocery store, where we can easily purchase fruits and snacks for our room. This marks our second stay at this hotel; we were here just three weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, prompting us to rebook. We highly recommend it.
