We have stayed here dozens of times over past 5 years! Danny and his staff from front desk to house keeping are the best and most helpful team ever!
What’s not to like?
Beautiful location
The Room we were in needed to be painted.
Room location was great. Paying for coffee that we had to wait for was disappointing.
We did not like that the room was without a coffe maker.
Love the location, staff was extremely helpful.
Nothing I didn't like
the location of this hotel is amazing, so much to do and see. the docks and playground and water between the hotel and downtown on one side, and the marina with a beautiful walking trail on the other side. also the pool is fantastic, our kids loved it! has a large shallow side and an even larger 8 1/2 foot deep end. and the restaurant and bar is there as well so you can order and enjoy at the pool if you want!
we stayed in the casa marina building, which is the farthest building away from the main lobby, which means the walk to the lobby for coffee or any amenities, or the pool, isn't very convenient. we should have brought in our own paper towels and paper plates, or something, because it's too far to walk to the restaurant just for those items.
the only other thing i didn't like is the lighting isn't great, and the bathroom door does not stay open on its own. it shuts by itself automatically which proved to be annoying especially with little kids in and out
We went back and forth for weeks trying to find the perfect spot for our family of 5 today stay for a week in San Diego. 3 adults 2 kids. we initially had two hotels booked due to availability and just days before we arrived ,
we called the hotel itself and got a new reservation for 6 days
we now had a King suite which worked out fine with a pull out next to it for our youngest. although the king size bed did not feel like a King , it’s seems like a small King if that
This hotel was perfect for your family . I was there for a work convention downtown San Diego so it was short drive about 15/17 mins
Rooms
could use an update for sure. but kitchen( not full ) there is no oven
We were very happy. pool and hot tub
Breakfast was good for kids. we didn’t eat anyning but kids pancakes :) Wouls stay again
also laundry room
available for $2.50 each load. takes quarters which you can get from Marina
When we arrived our room had been upgraded. The staff were helpful an friendly. The hotel overlooked the marina, which was beautiful. The restaurant served quality food.
Can't think of anything.
Everything and have stayed here many times.
We were asked if we would like upgrade our room and we did. The room and view were lovely. Staff was friendly. We were very pleased with our room.
I love it there everyone nice and very clean
Location was quiet but close to all main San Diego activities
This hotel was perfect for our stay and visit to San Diego. It’s not a centrally located hotel so you’ll either need to use a car or local transport. We did both as we returned the car half way through and used the local trolley and bus service. It’s about a 10/15 minute walk from the bus stop but the service takes you to the Old Town, where you can then connect to Downtown San Diego.
We appreciate the laid back, quiet appeal of this hotel. The rooms are spotless and well maintained. We were located in the Marina View Building, with a view over the Marina to the rear of the hotel. Beautiful sunsets on that side. We had 2 spacious queen sized beds, with plenty of room to spread out with 3 suitcases. The balcony is furnished with a table and 2 chairs and makes for a pleasant sit out of an evening.
We spent time around the main pool and never had any issues with finding a sun bed. They were super comfy too! The pool is quite deep at one end at approx 8ft so just be mindful with little ones.
We had breakfast each morning in the Blue Wave Bar and Grill and would like to do a special shout out to Stacey, who was welcoming, friendly and provided excellent customer service. She even took the time to give us some tips for exploring the local area, which we really appreciated. We also ate twice in the evening and would like to also thank the French gentleman (who was so busy yet always with a smile!) and also Zee, who again took the time to make us feel welcome and ensured we had a fab meal. Try the Key Lime cheesecake - it was sooo good! Also the Tropical Burger, which came with banana and peanut butter. It shouldn’t work but it did! I need to see if I can get the recipe to try at home!
My biggest thanks go to Vanessa on the front desk. We were on a road trip throughout California for my 40th birthday. I had messaged the hotel in advance and was told I had been allocated a suitable room. Upon check in, I’m really not sure what it was but I suspect the fan in the bathroom, what sounded like a generator and the air con in the hallway together made the room so noisy. I’m a light sleeper so I knew several nights of this would be horrendous. Vanessa persevered with me and managed to allocate the perfect room for our stay. I’m sorry I was a pain in the rear end but appreciate everything you did. Bless her as I’m sure she inwardly groaned every time I approached the desk thereafter for pool towels or to post a card, never showed this though and remained professional throughout. A credit to the hotel.
Will certainly stay here again if we ever visit San Diego again.
Thank you.
