Great place to visit
Pros:

Came to this resort by request of my son and daughter in law as an across country meeting place. It's a lovely hotel rich with history. It's very busy and bustling with people. We had a lot of fun here. The club lounge was our favorite- shout out to Kristie and Tim who went above and beyond for us. Loved Kristie's banter with my husband- she's soooo funny! Christine at check in was the best! We also loved the piano bar. The little village shops and car museum were fun to see. Would stay here again.

Expensive but nice...
Pros:

I usually go to the Biltmore but decided to try something new and overall I wasn't disappointed. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. We spent most of our time at the spa and I included a massage because it was my birthday. The only complaint is the breakfast was terrible it doesn't even come close to the Biltmore even though it was twice as expensive to stay there. The spa experience makes up for a lot but I will admit I am close enough that I would opt for the spa and nix overnight if booking wasn't a requirement.

Kindness is paramount at the Grove Park Inn.
Pros:

We continue to return to the Grove Park Inn, year after year and each time find something new and different to enjoy. However, the common thread through each of these visits is the attention to detail in hospitality and service. Each interaction is meaningful and intentional and kind for which we are eternally grateful.

The best wedding gift!!!
Pros:

My husband and I were gifted a stay at Omni by my aunt and uncle as a wedding gift. Wow, this was the most luxurious and beautiful gift! We stayed for 2 nights and explored most of the bars and restaurants. Since it was a wedding gift, the staff had complimentary desserts and bottles of wine for us during our stay. So thoughtful! The lobby really was our favorite atmosphere. We loved the large fire places and the live music! There was a 3 piece band- piano, cocktail drum kit and a stand up bass plus vocals. They were absolutely incredible- we loved enjoying drinks while listening to them in such a gorgeous atmosphere! I have been telling all my friends and family to experience Omni at least once in their lives!

Great amenities
Pros:

You have to remember this is an old hotel before you enter your room. We were in the lodge and it was old-old furnishings, tiny bath and linens needed an update. No shower gel but nice Nest products. I expected better for what we paid per night. The spa did not disappoint nor did the restaurants. I do think management should take another look at the rooms and spruce them up.

Seriously??????
Pros:

This stay has been so disappointing. I had always wanted to come here and my chance came when a family wedding was being held here. I checked in yesterday. Prior to my arrival the hotel sent numerous communications that scaffolding is up in parts of the hotel. I was given my room and it was on the ground floor of the hotel looking directly at a wall. The scaffolding was indeed there coupled with wire mesh netting attached to the scaffolding. I called the front desk and told them I refused to stay in this room. I was offered a room 2 stories above but was told it too had scaffolding. I refused. I was then offered a room with the caveat that this room overlooked a loading dock. At this point I demanded to speak to the manager. Well that did the trick as I was moved to a room without scaffolding overlooking a relatively nice view. I just returned to my room at 4 p,m to get ready to go to the wedding only to find out that my room had not been cleaned. Seriously? I would never consider staying here again.

With some improvements in the facility, this would be an amazing place to stay because of the beautiful scenery.
Pros:

The lobby and the views outside were beautiful.

Cons:

The rooms were not in great condition. The room had windows that were covered by loose screens and cracked wood, just in bad condition. Also, the air conditioning did not work in my room. We called the front desk and they sent an engineer who was not able to fix it, so we were offered to to stay in another room, which we did. The AC worked in that room thankfully, but it was a little smaller and not totally clean.

We won't be going back
Pros:

The location is great. The atmosphere is special. The rooms are dated. The hotel is over priced and they hit you for tips in multiple areas costing you significantly. The hotel is pretty clean. The rooms are very quite. The service was good. There are great amenities available but be ready to pay significantly.

It’s always a memorable experience!
Pros:

We stay here because it is a beautifully preserved historical Arts&Crafts hotel in a lovely setting. We have attended the annual Arts&Crafts Conference several times here. The restaurants and staff are wonderful. I love the Grovewood Gallery and the ability to see/purchase local art work. Shopping and eating in nearby downtown Asheville is a plus.

Cons:

Two day trip to see Biltmore
Pros:

We like historic hotels so wanted to stay here even though cheaper options in Asheville

Original part is small as two other wings were built in 80s. Public area and outside are nice. Rooms in original part were nice as any original parts including built in dresser. Had to use human operated elevator to get up. I used stair to get down. If stayed again would get lower floor in old building as 6th had slopping ceiling. Most of 5th floor has same ceiling.

Lobby very nice as had gas fireplace that was on. Only light wood one when below 55. Only had breakfast at marketplace as the other place is buffet only as no option to have ala carte cooked breakfast. Lunch at Edison was good.

Gym is huge as called sports facility for a reason as have 3 indoor courts two of which converted to picketball. Had 4 working peloton,

Did not check out pool either indoor or
Outdoor. Not sure how get to outdoor as seems like need to do spa treatment.

Parking is plentiful either valet or surface lot. They have indoor garage but under reconstruction when there.

Anniversary Trip 42 years
Pros:

Great location back up in the hills with the old back in the day feel. Rooms was just the right sizes for the 2 of us. The rooms were very clean and we overlooked the 18th hole tee off great view for the price. The lobby was a story from the Past, people talking, laughter and the panino playing and drink glasses kinking was Great. Love to come back at Christmas time to see all the lights!!!

Amazing. 100 stars.
Pros:

Everything about this place is magical! My girlfriend and I stayed for our anniversary and we couldn’t have been happier! This is my second time staying but a lot of things have changed since I was last there in 2020. My gf has never been and she was thrilled with the spa and all of the amenities. I did the valet parking option and my recently purchased Porsche Panamera was handled with care (which was super important considering I mean…it’s a Porsche!) the service was quick and efficient everywhere we ate at the Vue 1913, Edison, and the Spa Cafe. All were amazing but our favorite was Edison’s beer cheese pretzel. A complementary bottle of rose Chandon was brought to our room along with a box of chocolates for our anniversary. We also ordered a microwave to be brought to our room to heat up leftovers which I thought was amazing. Housekeeping did a great job, the spa staff took great care of us, and the waitress at the Vue 1913 was so funny. I wish I could remember her name. I will be returning again ASAP! Thank you!

Cons:

The only thing I can think of was that the elevators were so far away from the lobby. Walking in uncomfortable heels was not…fun lol. However this was a minor inconvenience and I didn’t mind at all.

Dated - needs updates
Pros:

Beautiful views. Spacious and quiet rooms. Dated and rustic ambiance and decor - this is different than stately. The property desperately needs an update. Examples: visible holes in pillow cases and bedding. Limitations to service - e.g., room service was published to open at 6:30 am, but when I called, unable to order until 7 am. Dark meeting spaces and decor.

Will not be visiting again and will be double checking booking.com's descriptions of future hotels.
Pros:

Walking around the property was nice.

Cons:

According to booking.com, there is an indoor pool. However, even as a guest at the hotel, reservations needed to be made days in advance. The indoor pool was the #1 reason we stayed there. We planned for months to go to that pool. It was definitely very disappointing and felt like the stay was a huge waste of money.

A mixed and expensive visit
Pros:

My wife and I booked a 5 night stay in this hotel in May this year. It is an impressive looking and historic building despite the scaffolding which is currently prominent. The staff were without exception friendly and efficient. The room decor is in need of an upgrade and is looking a little tired. Cleanliness was good and room facilities were as expected. The hustle and bustle of the public areas was inaudible in our room. The food in the restaurants was of good quality, but the serving times in the Edison restaurant were unacceptable. We ate there twice during our stay and I ordered the same dish each time, The first time it took a 40 minute wait in a quiet restaurant and we were informed that a trainee was responsible. On arrival the food was very good.
We went there again on our last night and this time we waited for an hour and a half as we were told there was an issue with some of the kitchen equipment. Our server was understandably embarrassed and apologetic. Eventually a duty manager came to our table and resolved the situation.

This hotel is expensive and trades on its location views and prominent history. Does it live up to its reputation? Visitors should be aware that a stay at this establishment will a pricey experience, and other options are available in North Carolina. Not recommended.
