Comfortable and clean in an interesting, historical hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.
Pros:

A good breakfast overall

Staff were incredibly upbeat and communicated a sense of enjoyment working there. In reception, bar, dining room and spa all staff were very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about working in Nailcote Hall.
Lovely room , clean and comfortable.
Sandwiches in the bar in the evening were very good, delicious home cooked ham. Staff were unclear about what was on offer as it was a Sunday evening but soon contacted the kitchen and came up with the ideal solution.

Enjoyed using the pool and jacuzzi.

Cons:

No prepared fresh fruit to go on cereal, bacon was good but sausages were of a mediocre standard.
Quality of changing room in spa was poor underfoot, steam room was out of order. a small spinner would have helped when taking wet swim clothes home.
In room 9, swing doors could be heard banging during the night and in addition, people were talking loudly as they passed the room.

Two nights at Nailcote hall hotel.
Pros:

Picturesque, lovely surroundings. Staff very friendly. Nice room. Food at the bar was good. Morning breakfast generous.
Would have rated higher but for very noisy water tank

Cons:

Very noisy water tank above our room.it prevented any sleep until it went quiet at about midnight. Carpets dirty throughout the hotel and general condition of fixtures and furniture all a bit tired.

Cons:

Was disappointed in the fact that flambé was advertised but they couldn’t do it. This was the reason we picked this hotel. Not enough milks in room to make a cup of tea in the morning.

lack of ventilation/cooling apart from keeping the windows open which did not feel very safe. the breakfast was nothing special. the pool which is a real plus was badly maintained (mold in the corners everywhere)

Comfortable hotel in beautiful surroundings with nice facilities.
Pros:

lovely room, pool and small but well equipped gym. The beds were comfy, room a very good size. Beautiful old building, well maintained. Quiet room.

Cons:

Breakfast choice was nice with regards to full British, and very nice sweet treats (croissants and mini pain o chocolate and similar), but the savoury bread and fresh produce options were very limited. Only small packed highly processed cheeses . Uncut small choice of fruit - it is nice that there is fruit at all, but I would have hoped for more fresh and nicely prepared produce for a hotel of this standard and quality. A friendly "good morning" from the staff in the breakfast table would have been lovely too.

Never again.
Pros:

The staff did their very best under difficult circumstances. The bed was comfortable. The country setting is appealing in good weather. My room was some distance away and hard to locate but it was quiet.

Cons:

There was a wedding on. We entered reception to be surrounded by wedding guests holding drinks who could not get into their event. The entry point was full of smokers blocking the doorway. We couldn't be heard so the receptionist took us outside to give us directions to our rooms. He assured us it would quiten down and told us we didn't need to book a table in the restaurant in the evening. The evening came the restaurant was full so we had to drive to town to eat. In the morning breakfast was served in the corridor in order to service wedding guests who were eating separately. It was a works canteen environment. The food was cold and terrible. I complained to David the Manager who promised an e mail with some agreed compensation in a few days. This never appeared.

Overall good.
Pros:

Food at dinner was great and bed was comfortable. Lovely staff.

Cons:

Tables were very sticky in dining room. Breakfast not so great with overcooked bacon and terrible coffee. Shower didn’t work.

Quaint and Peaceful Country House Stay
Pros:

This is our second stay at this quaint country house hotel. While not particularly close to where we need to be, the commute is worth it to stay in a cosy, friendly establishment. The room was a good size for what we needed and the bed was large and very comfortable. We particularly appreciate that this hotel still has a bath as well as a shower for guests. Lots of storage room and a security safe and sufficient electrical outlets/plugs. On this occasion we had a room with a terrace which suited us very well as we were able to enjoy evenings outside on the table and chairs provided. We made use of the pool facilities in the spa this visit and thoroughly enjoyed those amenities.

Cons:

The surface of the car park has not improved since our stay last year. The many potholes are significant and difficult to drive in a car with a low chassis such as we have. The addition of some gravel and some levelling up would quickly remedy the issues and make the area much tidier and easier to navigate. I am always disappointed when a hotel does not provide more than a basic kettle and instant coffee in the room. Despite there being an option to purchase barista coffee when the bar is open, I would expect a 4 star hotel to provide a basic pod style coffee machine or coffee bags with a drip machine for complimentary coffee in the rooms.
