Pros:

Friendly staff, easy check in and spacious comfortable room

Great family afternoon tea and a comfortable stay
Pros:

Comfy bed if a little small. Very helpful staff and an excellent birthday afternoon tea in a courtyard. Nice setting.

Cons:

Rooms a little warm as no air conditioning. The hotel has lots of facilities but it’s somewhat retro in terms of decor and is a little frayed around the edges but that adds to its charm.

Average hotel, could be better
Pros:

Nice hotel environment with friendly staff.

Cons:

Cleanliness wasn’t the best in the room, there was some mould in the bathroom that is easily removed.
Breakfast was poor. Mushrooms watery, tomato tasteless, cheap beans, I left the sausage it was so bad. Bacon and toast were fine.
I told the property weeks ago that my daughter is coeliac and vegan. She had no cereal option and could only eat mushroom, tomato and beans. Not good enough when she paid as much as anyone else.
There was a wedding and the staff were overstretched which meant a long wait for food and drinks.

Thank goodness I didn’t bring the missus…
Pros:

The friendly staff made the whole experience just about tolerable, bless ‘em…

Cons:

Would you love the chance to return to Tudor times via the early 90s? Do your nasal hairs quiver at the prospect of whiffing stale cigarettes from the same period? Then you’re in for a treat at Nailcote (or Nail in the Coffin) Hall. Bask in the underground mould experiment which doubles as a spa, which rumour has it Pzizer are snapping up for rare strains of virus not yet unleashed on humanity. Dine in style but wear wipe clean overalls in the Tudor-cum-disco restaurant, where tables come pre-sticky so spilling a few things won’t matter at all. The Ritz it ain’t, but for a ton a night, the decor provided some much needed trauma release, so guess it saved on a few therapy sessions…

Disappointing
Pros:

Countryside location. Comfortable bed.

Cons:

Potholes in the driveway and car park. Although our room was quiet (as asked ), it was a long walk and 2 flights of stairs from the main house. We stayed 3 nights and there was a good buffet breakfast for 2 days with pleasant staff but the other day was a very rushed, badly cooked and slightly aggressive waitress served breakfast.
The bar area was very busy on the event nights which we were not attending.

Nice staff. Old and tired looking and no AC
Pros:

The location was good and the staff were very friendly.

Cons:

The lack of air conditioning, I was put in a room next to the wedding marquee and I wasn’t in the wedding party. Spent the whole night having to listen to the music as if the speaker was in my room.

Overpriced drinks, wouldn’t stay again
Pros:

Unique, as clean as can be for period property

Cons:

No easy link to pool, had to go outside from main hotel. Bar is in odd spot if wanting to sit outside. Over priced drinks

Lovely location, onsite bar not very good.
Pros:

The location is beautiful, rooms were clean and the shower was great. Food in the evening was lovely and so was the breakfast. The cat onsite was friendly too.

Cons:

The 'bar' man when we arrived didn't acknowledge us standing at the bar for at least 10 minutes. There was only 1 other person in the bar at the time. He took a very long time making their cocktail, but couldn't even give us a smile or say, I'll be with you shortly. I thought this was very rude.

Pros:

The beds were comfortable and it was nice that there were two chairs in the room.I asked for a accessible room which we had there was a small terrace outside our room with outside chairs and table which we used. The staff were all nice and friendly.

Cons:

I had requested a accessible quite room, the room was on the ground floor with a bathroom that had a low level sink and bars to assist with getting in the shower which was over a quite high bath.,not ideal if you have mobility problems. As far as a quite room was concerned our room faced the back of a marquee that was used for events and on the Saturday it had a band playing until 1am. We were aware of the event and had informed the hotel that we were not attending this. Breakfast on Saturday was served and over cooked,on Sunday it was a buffet style and much nicer.Overale the hotel was O.K but more questions needed to be asked when booking.
