seem to run out of most hot food, flustered staff
Room wasnt clean , eyelashes on the drink mat by the bed
Great find! Very nice presentable old manor style hotel. Friendly staff, special shout to Ian who worked at the leisure center. Nice spacious room (No 30). Large comfortable bed. No creaking floor noises when walking, which I found pleasantly unusual! Small but well equipped gym (perfect for 2-3 people at a time). Large swimming pool with water of pleasant temperature. Steam room and jacuzzi, all working! Breakfast is ok. Close drive to Hickory restaurant is a bonus.
This would be a solid 4.5 star review if not the access road. The condition of the road to parking is terrible with huge potholes and uneven surfaces. I have scratches underneath of my car few times even driving with a snail speed. Please fix the road! Also, nice to have an EV charger but EON rate of £0.75 per kWh is desperate.
The room was beautiful, really lovely atmosphere and excellent size. The location is equally as lovely, the staff were very pleasant and super accommodating. Have stayed before and will visit again.
Can not fault the hotel or staff - it has a personable feel and I would highly recommend.
Mooie locatie, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Ruime kamer.
Kamer naast branddeur die telkens met luide knal dichtslaat wanneer iemand passeert... Badkamer verouderd, in een badkuip moeten stappen om te douchen is niet meer van deze tijd.
Lovely comfortable rooms friendly staff great location
Location
Tired facilities.
Unhelpful staff. Grumpy receptionists
Super room with doors to outside areas. Excellent pool and quiet during my stay.
Breakfast was ok but was a served buffet style; previously it has been made to order which I much prefer.
Beautiful old building full of character. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. We were hosting a business event there and they were very ameanable and the food was good.
We were there the same weekend as Crufts so there were some very cute dogs that barked a lot.Not the hotels fault though !
Lovely grounds and old estate house as the main building.
Appreciated the full availability of services and the friendly, extremely competent staff.
Would be amazing for golf-lovers, located right next to course and club house with ample parking.
Room bathrooms were well appointed and cleaned with superb water pressure.
The bed and pillows were simply terrible and the main reason for a lukewarm review score. The bed sagged in the centre and at the foot (despite it being a slat bed) and was far too firm where it didn't sag; the pillows were ancient pancakes and well overdue for replacement.
The furniture and fitout of the room (in the annexe) was also extremely tired (worn carpet, curtains coming off rails, dirty cobwebby windows), not in keeping with the tariff/rating.
Some relatively easy fixes would go a long way.
Location 15 minutes of NEC. Some staff ok, restaurant staff very good.
Rooms tired, rooms are in a more modern building next to 17th century building. Not what I was expecting. Bar very slow, breakfast staff (lady) not the nicest,
Location great for us and very friendly sly staff - love the pool. Food better than last time even then it was good.
Nothing ok it’s a bit snappy chic but against the cost its excellent value .
Very quaint and peaceful place to stay. We loved the swimming pool despite it needing a bit of updating. The staffs were friendly and helpful when we needed a bit of help.
Nothing. But a bigger bed for a family of 3 (2 adults and 1 toddler) would have come handy.
It was a lovely place
It was all ok
Location
Pool area looked old and dirt
No shower mat when both bath and tiled floor slippery
Shower water went cold mid through, unable to control temperature
Bedside table draw broken
