We were in the area for a wedding, and we spent 3 nights here with my two married children and their spouses. It is a great property with Tuscany feel. Got upgrades, free breakfast which was excellent. We could get a late check-out. Service was good. The only thing that is a drawback is dated rooms and their cleanliness.
Loved this hotel. We asked for a different room to the one allocated and they found us a great room in the main lodge. The hotel has a really nice feeling about it, staff are great, and the rooms and public areas are lovely. Breakfast was very good as well. Would highly recommend
Staff was outstanding, room was very comfortable.
Hot tub had only one jet working and not very well
WILLIAM and the staff at the Benicias kitchen went above and beyond. Everyone at the lodge was more than cordial but friendly and kind. They cared about my mom’s birthday and made great additions to our trip. Lovely facilities including the pool and restaurants. Such a lovely place!
Location is okay
Zero service and hospitality
Too overpriced for that
Rooms are not in good condition
Stay in the cottages if you want a quiet stay. Spacious with adequate storage and self parking very near. Check in was very rushed by a young girl - felt like she wanted to leave asap - missed a couple of items that we had to ask about later on. Would have been nice to know that the menu at Benicia restaurant changes at weekends (very limited) and then closed early on Sunday so that wit and wisdom had business for their overpriced Easter brunch!! We would not have done this if we were told about the changes at check in. Pool area is nice when it’s quiet but of course, screaming kids arrived and ruined the atmosphere - must be awful in the summer!! Room comfortable but they skimp on towels and foam pillows weren’t that firm. Close to the square and a nice walk in. Trolley service available but only after 2pm. Much better restaurants in town and less expensive than wit and wisdom.
Cody room
Way over priced for what it is.
I booked a room here for one night this past weekend. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the room type I had reserved versus the one I received, as it was the last room available. On top of that, I had a very noisy neighbor with a baby crying throughout the night, which made for a less-than-ideal stay. I was understandably disappointed and shared my concerns with Lynn at the front desk.
Lynn was incredibly kind, listened with genuine empathy, and made sure to communicate everything to her manager, Kendall. When I spoke with Kendall the following day, she was already aware of the situation, showed sincere concern, and took immediate action to make things right. That level of attentiveness and care truly stood out.
Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and issues arise; that’s inevitable in hospitality. What matters most is how those situations are handled. Lynn and Kendall exemplify what great customer service should look like; professionalism, compassion and accountability.
I will certainly be back on my next visit to enjoy this beautiful property and the outstanding service they provide. Keep shining and continuing to deliver a world-class guest experience.
We had an amazing time at the lodge and loved taking the electric Volkswagen Bus into Town for dinner and shopping
The valet and driver were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed dinner at the Michael Mina restaurant on our first night
The food , service and atmosphere was amazing. We need to acknowledge that Taylor, who works at the front desk and drives the VW bus was so much fun, has a great personality and made our stay very special. Definitely will be back !
Fantastic doesn’t do justice to the incredible stay my daughter and granddaughter had at this most welcoming property. Audra and her whole team from maintenance to the restaurant, maids and front desk were all so kind, warm and professional. This is there third time here and will always be there home away from London when they visit.
Warm and cozy ambiance, we loved the fireplace in the main lobby and in our room! It was cold and rainy during our December trip. The two restaurants within the hotel were outstanding. Self-parking was excellent. Best part: a kind staff person was extremely helpful in the evening before checkout. I needed extra bubble wrap for two bottles of wine I packed in my suitcase. He found it in the back office, and was so happy to help. A great way to end our stay!
We are Bay Area residents that went over for the night to Sonoma and stayed at the Sonoma Lodge.
The front desk staff Kendall , Marran, and Jesus were extremely accommodating, patient, and friendly while helping an exorbitant amount of guests!
They’re wonderful and welcoming as well as the dining staff and valet / shuttle team.
I appreciate the staff going above and beyond to accommodate our needs and making it comfortable, so that we can enjoy our get away stay.
Highly recommend and hope to come back.
Outstanding service. Kendall and Jesus at the front desk went above and beyond to fix a points-booking issue and upgraded us to a perfect room for our family of five. The resort is relaxing, with great pool and spa amenities. TrainTown across the street was a big win for the kids, and there are excellent dining options nearby.
This place is truly special. We first stayed here 15 years ago for our rehearsal party and wedding in Sonoma, and returning for our anniversary was just as magical—if not better! We stayed in a private little cottage, enjoyed relaxing moments, rode bikes, did wine tasting right in the lobby, and were treated to a complimentary dessert at dinner. The experience was unforgettable and perfectly nostalgic.
