Fantastic location and rooms appointed with everything you need for a stay in Edinburgh. Loved the commemoration to jousting in the courtyard and the close proximity to the castle and picturesque shops!

We loved our accommodation on the top floor with a view of the castle. I also liked the Oscar Wilde inspired theme.
We did like the hotel very much, the second morning at breakfast the coffee machine appeared to be broken. The cappuccino was not hot and the hot chocolate was only warm milk.
I like the location and, at first glance, the apartment's design
The apartment had cleanliness issues. When we walked in and sat down on the couch, we discovered a sticky red substance on a cushion—it looked like tomato sauce. When we went into the bedroom, we found bits of cut toenails on the floor. It was disgusting. The apartment was very damp, and in the middle of a heat wave, it was almost impossible to stay there for even a few minutes.
On the other hand, although the hotel staff was, in general, very friendly, one employee made us feel unwelcome. Apparently, she doesn’t like people of color or queer people. When we went to the dining room for breakfast, she looked us up and down suspiciously. She asked us if we were actually guests and demanded that we hand over our apartment key so she could verify our reservation. She treated one of us poorly: when she asked for the name of the person who had made the reservation, she said that name didn’t appear on the guest list and started changing it, asking if it might instead be a completely different male name than the one we had given her. She told us we hadn’t made a reservation for breakfast and that we couldn’t have it, instead of offering us a table and charging the cost to the room or letting us pay for it right away. It was awful. We’ll avoid this hotel chain on our future visits to the United Kingdom.

There was nothing we didn’t like!
Perfect place to explore Edinburg. Loved the smart controls in the room, the kitchen area, and access to gym and laundry (also smart controlled). Friendly staff. Didn’t try the breakfast, but it looked good and I liked the option for the full vs. Continental options.
The lights were all or nothing. It would have been able to turn on the kitchen area lights without the bedroom option turning on.
Great location, the staff were very accommodating. The first room we’re in was ok and it’s nice having the kitchenette and did have space. Great location close to Grassmarket and not far walking distance to the carpark, castle on the hill and other well known areas like Victoria Street. It’s pretty quiet to sleep in.
The first room they gave was a disable access room, due to some kind of maintenance issue or building defect. The shower didn’t drain properly instead of the water draining toward the shower drain, it would fall towards the other side of the bathroom towards the toilet and sink. The whole floor was covered in water. It didn’t drain over a whole day and having to walk through water in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and could be a serious slip hazard and pretty gross to be walking through the water we just showered in. The staff were very accommodating when we had a complaint the following day, one particular staff member heard our complaint, followed it up by coming up to see it herself, took it up with a manager and although we had to stay there another night as every room was booked, we did get moved to another room for the rest of the week. I appreciate the staff doing there best and moving us, and reporting it to maintenance. However, we do believe that it was more than just the water not draining and maintenance issue, it could potentially need a linear shower drain to drain the water better. If you book the accessible room and have this issue, especially if you in a wheel chair, report to staff immediately as an accessible room should not have this kind of water pooling. We also like to note the fact that when making the booking through booking.com the staff told us this is commonly the accessible room with disable bathroom. So keep that in mind when booking as we didn’t know until we got there. The second room they gave us was fine and comfortable stay, no issues there.
