Great location but I would not go back.
Pros:

Location is perfect.
Breakfast was very good.

Cons:

The room was filthy. There was hair on the bathroom floor and an old sock in the bedroom.
It was superficially clean, but there was a lack of care and attention.

Excellent location, lovely rooms.
Pros:

Excellent location — near the Abbey and the Roman Baths. If you sign up for any tours that include a van or bus ride, they’ll greet you right outside. My stay included breakfast, which I really enjoyed. It’s served at a leisurely pace, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time.

Cons:

It has a funky layout, which I understand can be typical in the UK. My room was 432 but I accessed it by going to the 2nd floor and then taking a flight of stairs I’m glad my luggage wasn’t bigger or heavier since there wasn’t anyone to help.

Great location, no soundproofing
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff, great location in the centre of Bath. The bar area is cosy and the food was generally ok.

Cons:

The rooms, or at least the room for this stay, was not soundproofed. It is infuriating that hotels can charge higher prices for higher value hotels but think that a basic partition is good enough. It is not, it was not. The noise coming from the room next door was noticable. Conversations, TV noise all could be heard, not muffled, word for word understood. The other room were not being noisy or disruptive. They were enjoying their break, just not sure why we had to listen to it at midnight. I raised it with reception the next day, they were apologetic. Again, not their fault, they didn't build/design the rooms. The end result is no one will take responsibility.

We loved our two day stay in Bath, and the Roman baths are a must visit. Amazing!
Pros:

The hotel is centrally located to the Roman Baths and the Abbey.
Breakfast was well organised, a great variety and plentiful. Also, the staff were very friendly and eager to please, especially Sally, the restaurant manager.

Wonderful tea room experience with Sally at the helm!
Pros:

Sally served us in the tea room, I arrived much earlier than my friends and she immediately put me at ease, served me tea earlier and explained the menu. Sally was so warm, funny, thoughtful and kind and this tremendously added to a lovely reunion/get together for us.

Thanks Sally!

Pros:

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Meghan at the reception desk was very helpful. We asked many questions and she answered all with a smile. Sally was all over the hotel. She waited on us at breakfast, then again in the bar area, and was very friendly even though she was so busy. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city.
