Fantastic location and staff. Very central location with access to pearl district and waterfront. Close to shopping and food. Staff was very helpful and kind
Jeremiah from the front desk was super helpful from check in to check out! My boy hooked it up with the perfect haircut spot too (s/o Throne Kings). The location was prime for Portland, we’re literally in the center of everything (centric). The vibes were immaculate as the music was always going and the staff provided a great atmosphere for interaction and visuals. Rooms were nice and tidy - very cool concepts. Value is insane due to the location and amenities. Gym is greaaat. Would stay again.
The hotel is modern, clean, and conveniently located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and parks. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, and valet service was quick. The elevators were quite slow, though manageable. My room had a nice couch but no desk — if you need a workspace, I recommend confirming desk availability when booking. The hotel is pet-friendly, but the surrounding area does not feel safe for walking a dog alone at night, especially for women. I had to drive elsewhere to walk my dog after dark, which was inconvenient.
We stayed at this hotel from August 14 to August 16, booking two rooms for two nights for our family. Unfortunately, the service during our stay was extremely disappointing, especially the housekeeping and guest service.
One of our rooms did not even have tissues when we first checked in. More seriously, the other room was never properly cleaned during our entire stay despite multiple requests.
On the morning of August 15, everyone left the room as usual. When we returned around 2:00 PM, we found that the room had not been serviced. We waited until after 4:00 PM, but housekeeping still had not come. We tried calling Guest Services, but no one answered the phone, so we had to go downstairs to the front desk in person and specifically request that the room be cleaned.
We then left the hotel again, giving them several more hours to take care of it. When we returned around 8:00 PM, the room was still exactly as we had left it. NO housekeeping at all. Once again, our calls to Guest Services went unanswered.
We went downstairs to the front desk for a second time and were told that someone would be sent up right away. We waited another 20 minutes, but still no one came. At that point, we had to go to the front desk for a THIRD time that day just to get basic room service.
Eventually, someone came to the room, but it was a maintenance employee rather than housekeeping. He was only able to replace the towels and empty the trash. The room itself was never actually cleaned.
the restaurant for breakfast was bad and the waitress was rude .
When we booked up , they never mention, that there was not parking available
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. My car was broken into while it was parked in the hotel’s valet garage, which is especially concerning given that I had entrusted the vehicle to the hotel’s valet service.
At the time of the incident, I was told by the valet company, while I was in front of the hotel, that the damage would be taken care of. Based on that representation, I expected the situation to be handled appropriately. However, I was later told that the valet company takes no responsibility for vehicles, which completely contradicted what I had initially been told.
The lack of accountability and the conflicting information were extremely frustrating. If guests are required to hand over their vehicles to a valet service and park in a hotel-controlled garage, they should be able to reasonably expect their property to be treated with care and any incidents to be handled professionally.
Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that neither the hotel nor its valet company was willing to take responsibility when something went wrong. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering staying here carefully consider how vehicle-related incidents are handled before using the valet service.
The staff is pleasant and available. The area was clean , in house breakfast was good.
I got charged $50 for early check in while they made references that we paid through booking.com so we didn’t qualify but they would make an exception. Got put in a room directly in front of the elevators on the 3rd floor. Uncomfortable and loud. The rooms have zero insulation , all concrete , can hear everything. Bed sheets were uncomfortable as well.
Beds and shower
Poor lighting, no outlets, no bag service
Great location!
The bathroom situation isn’t great because the sink is outside of the bathroom. Also in the bathroom everything echoes so you can hear everything the other person does when they are doing their business. The other issue is there were only enough towels for 1 person. When we told the front desk they said they would bring towels right up to the room but no one ever came. There was also only 1 robe. Staff were friendly but no one followed up
Location
We left about 20 minutes after arrival due to:
1. Sliding Door to shower does not fully close.
2. Room looks like a prison, all concrete.
3. Overall ambiance felt like Motel 6
Used this hotel for out of town guests to our wedding. Rooms are good but the hotel hosted some sort of event until 1:30. Also the hotel valet does not park the cars in a secure area and guests had they car windows smashed.
The location was nice and the street cars run right next to the hotel which is nice for exploring the area. The street cars were loud but didn't really impact my sleep since I sleep with thunderstorm sounds on. I woke up around 1am to club music playing. I am not certain where it was coming from, but perhaps their is a club nearby. Luckily it didn't wake my 3 year old. They place earplugs in the room without request. Staff did not provide water for Explorist level Hyatt members. The room was clean and everything worked appropriately, but the shower made some loud odd noises. I went to get a latte in the morning, but there was no staff present to make it. Overall, my stay was okay, but my expectations were higher for a Hyatt Centric. Next time I would probably stay at the Hyatt Regency or try out the Hyatt House instead. Our family has enjoyed our stay at a few Hyatt Places more than our stay at this Hyatt Centric. Overall, I could see this location being better for couples or singles instead of families.
The staff at Hyatt Centric were incredible from our first point of contact until through the wedding for which we hosted a room block here at Hyatt. I was able to have multiple meetings and tours of the hotel and conference rooms, had help planning a welcome event for the wedding at the hotel, and support throughout and after my stay. The biggest save was when we'd forgotten our wedding sign in our room before checking out. One of the receptionists check multiple places on the property and eventually found it. That saved us much grief and brought back a wedding memento we thought we'd never see again.
