Do not like that the hotel puts a one night stay charge on my card the day before I get there and than when I do arrive also adds a 250.00 charge for damage deposit.

The room was very nice, but the coffee maker didn't work, and the room was quite dark. Fine for just sleeping, but if you are trying to read something, the best lighting was in the bathroom. The vending machines in the hallways didn't work and the complementary breakfast was ok but not great. The bathroom and comfortable bed were the best experience for this stay.
Front desk staff very helpful and allowed me to change rooms to one more suitable
TV offerings in hotels are really lousy. Have more options available
Nice over all
The pool area was over run by a hockey team or something and says 5 people in hot tub, there was 20 . They were going one after another down the slide ripping into the water where other guests and kids were . It was dangerous and I didn’t feel my kids were safe so we went to our room the entire point of staying in the hotel for us is to swim so was a bummer.
Location and breakfast was great
The staff seemed to lose control of pool area, many teenage students were rambunctious and flooded the pool area. Fire alarms went off two nights in a row
The location was perfect the hotel was clean.
I stayed for 3 nights and the fire alarm went out multiple times in 2 nights. My kids did not get good sleeps. The hotel didn’t offer any kind of compensation.
Modern decor, good selection of pillows, breakfast was good with decent choices.
I have stayed with the Holiday Inn Express on a number of occasions across both the UK and Canada, and there are still aspects of this stay that reflect the consistency of the brand. The bed was particularly comfortable, and despite the room being larger than required, it was well laid out with a separate lounge area — a feature that would be useful for a longer stay or those needing additional space.
Breakfast was in keeping with the standard I have come to expect. Despite being very busy, it was well stocked throughout, and the breakfast staff attentive — even taking the time to check in with guests and ensure everything was satisfactory, which was appreciated. The morning receptionist was warm, approachable and easy to deal with.
This was a second stay at this property, and unfortunately the experience was again dominated by a large group of children travelling with parents or chaperones, evidently attending a group event. While this may speak to the hotel’s pricing or location appeal, the lack of supervision was concerning. Children were running up and down the corridors, creating significant noise, and repeatedly pressing all lift buttons, rendering it largely unusable at times. Equally disappointing — though not a fault of the Holiday Inn Express itself — was the lack of parental/chaperone supervision, with disruption continuing unchecked. It did affect what should have been a straightforward stay, so it may be worth checking ahead if this could be an issue.
The bathroom in my room also fell below the standard in terms of cleanliness. Check-in was less than smooth. The receptionist, while clearly keen greeting me across the room before I even arrived at the desk, came across as overly anxious — speaking very quickly, repeating herself frequently, and overly addressing as “ma’am” after nearly every sentence, which became rather grating.
