No lift working or air conditiong, should have been told before booking, was told after
Two great girls on reception.allocated third floor .I am 78 waiting for a knee replacement.Changed to ground floor straight away as lift out of order.Breakfast good.Ate in pub across car park for dinner,cheaper,good atmosphere and service.Would definitely use again as good halfway point Poole to Dundee.The young receptionist was good,the older girl was a fabulous ambassador for the hotel.Room great ,bed better than Premier Inn we used a day later,and better value.I was a hotel manager,up to 4 star,Excellent,staff make a hotel.
Breakfast food was excellent.We just fancied the pub atmosphere a bit more,plus it was excellent value.The double glazing was excellent,no real dislikes at all.No hesitation in going back,but would book quicker as delay in making my mind up cost me 18 pounds as price rose overnight.Still really good.
Room, shower and breakfast all good, staff were very friendly
Lift was out of order and we were up a couple of flights of stairs. These things happen though and not a big issue

Unfortunately outside the main entrance there was cigarette ends everywhere. I know it's not the hotels fault but that of a handful of lazy people but it was not nice to see
Everything was just perfect. I asked if i could be accommodated on the ground floor, as being in the older age group lower level is easier for shuffling about. Despite being close to the M6 and associated noise that goes with that, once the double glazed window was shut, the noise was hardly noticeable. This might be different during the summer months if there's no aircon and the window is opened for air, which I didn't seek or check out, as not required in the cooler September night I stayed.
Stuart booked me in and was really helpful, pointed out the car registration process at reception.
Well everything really was just fine, including the lady heading the breakfast that morning 14/9/26 who was engaging and helpful.
The only thing I would note, is although the business has to budget the cost of providing a breakfast selection and that is clearly calculated by someone in HIE accounts UK. Stafford is pretty much 'Up North' as the expression goes, and personally although hash browns are very nice, I would ditch them from the menu and put in Black Pudding instead. Where I was heading later that morning to the family homelands of Cumbria (truly up north), black pudding absent from the breakfast option would raise many an eyebrow.
Good location, helpful staff, but without a/c the rooms were far too noisy with the M6 next door. Not up to your usual standards.
Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very nice and hot I would definitely stay again and recommend to others
