St. Andrew’s is very cute. Lovely isolated location. Old Heritage hotel that has been nicely renovated. Nice amenities and they seem to be able to handle larger numbers of guests regardless of the weather.
The hotel is dog friendly, but not of their included activities are. Dogs must not be left alone in the room, and there is no shaded parking, so leaving in the car is also out. So no included activities if you have a dog. Standard 10% pet fee, but nothing else added with that. They have dog sitters, which must be arranged in advance, but did not tell me this until registration.
Staff seems quite inexperienced generally
The pillows were uncomfortable. There was a 30 dollar fee to use the facilities in which we had no intention to do so.
The town of St Andrews was beautiful
We got to our room and our view was a construction site, portable washroom etc I then had to go back to front desk and ask for another room after being told they were full at original check in We got another room after moving all our stuff. I asked twice for towels and dressing gown for 3 people as I had booked. I have been before and I felt very overpriced for a tired room and the trouble of moving around
Loved the staff. They were all so engaging in conversation and were fun to converse with. We took advantage of the shuttle service to do some shopping. That was an unexpected service that was appreciated.
Can't really think of anything. My family enjoyed this iconic hotel. Driving up to the hotel really sets the tone for what's to come, and we were not diappointed.
The room was very nice , except the bathroom. It was small compared to with no counter space. The dining room food was very good but also very expensive.
The room was very small with a tv that was too large for the size of the room. The chairs in the room were very uncomfortable to sit in. Very tiny windows that did not allow for a lot of natural light in the room.
Beautiful hotel and decor! Staff was friendly and extremely helpful!
Clean
The hotel is always excellent. The last of its kind in the province. Aman in the bar was excellent and the breakfast staff also. I’m sure it’s hard to find this kind of employee. Checking in is a vital way to connect with staff . I’m see that options of contactless check in is available but not for all. It makes for a less of an experience for many . I worry that the hotel will become just another empty stop along the way. The hotels history is important.
No mushroom toast for breakfast . A small thing , but if it’s on the menu it should be available. The avocado toast option was a soggy mess. Eggs need to be added at the last minute to prevent this. And the toast should have been sourdough as it holds itself well. My sunshine breakfast was good though.
The property and staff were wonderful. Pool was huge and nice temperature but, no change rooms or private showers. Could use a lot of beautifying - quite bleak.
The king room was a total disappointment. So small, the dolly to unload luggage wouldn't fit through narrow door or make the turn with a wall immediately in front. Nowhere to move or place luggage. Only room enough for one person to move between end of bed and tv unit. One hard kitchen chair and one small other one at a tiny table 2' off the floor unable to even hold a laptop. Unable to move in bathroom space, no counter space - door didn't even open fully. No robes. Coffee too awkward in drawer below TV. Room terribly uncomfortable in every way for two people. Definitely not a treat. Would not return for that reason or that price.
Clean. Beautiful view
It was in a great area. Bed was comfortable.
