La ubicación y amabilidad del personal. Te hacen un descuento en el parking respecto a lo que pagan los que no son huéspedes, dejándolo en 7£
Se nota bastante que no le han hecho una reforma en muchísimo tiempo. La pared tenía grietas que habían intentado tapar con masilla o pintura. Agujeros con tacos sin quitar en el baño, simplemente pasados con algo de pintura. El espejo con manchas negras, que tampoco cuesta tanto cambiarlo. Y la alcachofa de la ducha sin presión, que se notaba que no funcionaba correctamente, lo que hace ver el poco cuidado que le ponen. Tampoco están bien aisladas las habitaciones porque las vigas crujen muchísimo si en el piso superior alguien camina (yo no suelo despertarme por ruidos, pero esto fue muy difícil). Deberían revisar el número de estrellas del hotel porque no creo que se adecúe a las que tiene.
Lovely well restored building . The room was a good size
The bar is close to the entrance which has automatic doors so it was draughty and a little cold
The public areas of the hotel are great. The bar and dining areas are well designed and have a quirky historical feel.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable
The room was dated. Threadbare carpet, cracked tiles in the shower and not very clean.
The walls and ceilings are paper thin we could hear every noise from the corridor, the rooms at each side and above. Every movement, every flush of the toilets along with noise from other guests in the corridor made it impossible to sleep.
номер был хороший,но было очень душно:не было подставки удерживающей окно открытым,мы втолкнули подставку для чемодана-пошло немного воздуха,но вентилятор(мы попросили на стойке регистрации)не справлялся.....завтрак был исключительно обильным и вкусным!на букинге указано,что это отель с растораном-там не ресторан,а бар!
можно бы поставить кондиционер-в июле нет воздуха в номере!
We have often stayed at Mercure. Our room was well presented and clean and we like the location to the city.
We had to pay an unexpected £7.00 parking fee when previously parking had been free. We had minor issues with the shower being difficult to turn off, though having informed them expect it will be quickly sorted. We only had a bedside cabinet for one side of double bed.
Good Breakfast, in the centre of town,
Shower was impossible to operate, Wi-Fi was very bad, hotel decor felt tired.

It’s close to everything
It could be doing with getting a refurbishment rooms are poor
Staff was pleasant and check-in easy. Room was clean and spacious enough, so was the bathroom. Wi-fi worked well. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. Access to buses and trains is easy (10 mins away).
Finding the entrance to the hotel was not obvious, maybe some better signs, but it was just a small issue.
Location is excellent, several eateries within about 10 minutes walk. Easy to get to by car from the south, not sure about from other directions. Help yourself breakfasts were good with a fairly reasonable choice.
Our ground floor room was close to hotel entrance. Late night noisy revellers outside kept us awake till well after midnight on one night.
This was at least our third yearly visit to this hotel, still no grab handles in the bath to assist showering safely, having pointed this out each visit.

Check in I asked if i could leave my bag and the receptionist said just leave it over there ! I explained that i was not happy and was then offered to leave it behind the counter
Location good
We got an upgrade which was shocking a very dated room with stained lampshades chipped tiles in the bathroom and very dirty soap dish. There was no wi fi for our 2 night stay
Breakfast was excellent. Good range of choice - hot and cold.
Car parking insufficient.

I was in room 209 and the carpet was all stained as i arrived. Defo needs thrown out and a new one put in
