June 2026 visit
Pros:

Very helpful staff , great location, very clean rooms/bathroom.

Very comfortable bed and pillows.

Spa pool was nice and warm. Good sauna and steam room.

Didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food

Cons:

Only 2 power sockets in the entire room and both were well away from the bed

Pros:

Lovely friendly staff in a beautiful location. I have enjoyed stays here before but we were put in one of the newly refurbished rooms. Tasty breakfast with plenty options.

Cons:

The newly refurbished rooms are quite far from reception and smaller than regular rooms and our bathroom door wouldn't shut. This was reported to reception at the end of our stay. Tasty breakfast although the bar prices are fairly steep.

Somewhat disappointed
Pros:

Room and hotel and staff very nice and friendly

Cons:

Dining at the property were really below par, both dinner and breakfast were somewhat commercial and not stunning.
The dining room used was somewhat tatty and below par,the main dining room was being refurbished pity they didn’t tidy up the Macloud room before using it.Choice was limited at dinner and breakfast and only average.

Very enjoyable and have already rebooted for a return visit
Pros:

Having used this hotel for many years, I was very pleasantly surprised if how well trained the staff were in carrying out the logistics of bringing hot meals to the temporary location of the restaurant

Cons:

I always dislike that when large groups , whether for weddings or other functions take over the entire bar area despite them having their own allocated function room as was the case in Saturday night. My wife and I could not get to the bar area of even find a quiet place to sit and talk and therefore retired to our room early
