A pleasant step-over in Dunblane on the way to Glasgow
Pros:

We only spent one night here but we liked the well-equipped gym and the pool

Cons:

The walk uphill from the station

Lovely setting and short walking distance to the local town centre, maybe not as luxury as you would expect
Pros:

Nice quiet hotel unless you are next to fire doors!

Cons:

Fire doors banging during the night, woke up several times. It also now feels very expensive for what you get. The pool was a bit cold as well unfortunately

Will be great when refurb complete - must do something about food service
Pros:

Room has been newly refurbished so was very nice
Pool and leisure facilities good as were staff there

Cons:

Communication over food was poor.
So I did not get anything to eat as there was no food available after 9pm - not even room service
This may be because of refurb still ongoing

Would not recommend this hotel.
Pros:

The outside of the building was beautiful.

Cons:

Very disappointing once you get inside.
Our room was quite small, although it had all the amenities needed. It was very clean and the bathroom was clean and tidy. Well done Colin.

We went in the restaurant for our evening meal. The food was very disappointing. 2 courses £35 the menu was very limited. Chorse of 4 starters and 4 main meals.
Very ordinary food.
The waiter staff took our food order before our drink order immediately we sat down. The starter came within 5 minutes of us taking our seats. We had to ask for a 10 minute break otherwise our main meal would have come straight away. We felt very rushed.

Drinks were very expensive £10 for a small glass of wine which looked like a small amount. A presseco £9.95 for half a glass.

After our meal we went in the bar to watch the England watch. Lots of the seats had been reserved so we asked if they could find us a table. This seemed too much trouble for the staff, they seemed quite rude but did find us a table and moved some furniture around.
The reserved tables were for 1 man and his dog and before the match the reserved tables were empty.

Cons:

Hotel geared up for corporate events. No atmosphere inside. Bar like a waiting room. Deserted entrance. View of car park from room.

Erholsamer Aufenthalt in wunderschöner Lage
Pros:

Working hard to make it beautiful again.
Pros:

Stayed in a nicely decorated large family room with a pull out sofa bed for our granddaughter which was made up and very comfortable. Nice bathroom with lovely ethical toiletries. Great tea/coffee facilities.
Excellent choice and quality of breakfast in a beautiful room.
All staff were pleasant and attentive.

Cons:

We didn't use the main restaurant and the food menu in the bar area was small with not much choice. Food was OK but nothing special.
The leisure centre (in a separate building) is clean but in need of refurbishment. It looks like they are working their way through modernising the hotel so maybe they will get to that eventually.
