Extremely excellent service
I arrived at 18:15, expecting to enjoy the exec lounge from 18:00 - 20:00 as on many previous occasions. At 18:55, the staff began closing up the bar and food.
When I challenged the lounge manager about what was going on, he was quite dismissive and said 'the hours have changed - have you not read the signs, it is clearly displayed'
Apparently, the Metropole management have decided to move the exec lounge hours from 18:00 - 18:00 to 17:00 - 19:00.
That may work for the guests who are on vacation, however if you work in the City until 18:00 and then need to travel to Edgware Rd on the elderly Bakerloo line, you will get to enjoy 30 minutes of exec lounge hospitality.
Under the old regime, Gabriele would come round just prior to 20:00 and invite the guests to top-up as required prior to closing the bar.
There was no such courtesy from the duty manager on Thursday 28/05.
Checking out of the Metropole is always a frustrating experience, I travel weekly for business and get frustrated at the dim-witted tourists who cause queues at he check-out desks.
I raised the issue of the exec lounge hours at check-out, the desk team could not have been less interested.
I will not be staying at the Hilton Metropole going forward. The Hilton Paddington is five minutes walk along Praed St and is frankly a nicer hotel with classical architecture and an excellent exec lounge that is open from 18:00 - 20:00 ( which works for the business traveller).
Bye-bye Hilton Metropole, you have lost a frequent guest.

recently stayed at the hotel during a business trip to London and had a wonderful experience.
I would especially like to recognize two team members who made my stay even more enjoyable. Ravi at check-in was exceptionally welcoming, professional, and helpful from the moment I arrived. His warm attitude immediately made me feel at home.
I would also like to thank Lilijana from the breakfast service. She always greeted guests with a smile and was incredibly attentive, friendly, and accommodating every morning. Her positive energy truly stood out.
Thank you to the entire team for the excellent guest service. It’s people like Ravi and Lilijana who make a hotel stay memorable. I would be happy to stay here again.

Je me suis retrouvé dans une chambre handicapé dans une aile perdu de l’hôtel
Wat ons vooral erg beviel was het uitgebreide ontbijt. Er was volop keuze, waardoor er voor iedereen wel iets lekkers te vinden was. Daarnaast beschikt het hotel over een mooie en goed uitgeruste fitnesruimte waar ik goed gebruik van hem gemaakt Ook de ligging is ideaal: het hotel ligt dicht bij een metrostation, waardoor je gemakkelijk de stad kunt verkennen en snel op verschillende locaties bent.
Wat ons minder beviel, was dat het hotel erg groot is en er veel medewerkers rondlopen, maar dat niemand ons echt goed de weg kon wijzen. Toen we op zoek waren naar de fitnessruimte werden we meerdere keren verschillende kanten op gestuurd; de ene medewerker verwees ons naar een toren, de andere naar een andere lift. Dat kwam niet erg professioneel over. Ook vonden wij de kamer niet helemaal schoon. Daarnaast kunnen de badkamers wel een update gebruiken. De kitranden zijn aan vervanging toe, er hangt nog een ouderwets douchegordijn en het tapijt oogt versleten.
Verder verliep de housekeeping niet prettig. Op de tweede dag was onze kamer nog niet schoongemaakt. Toen we rond 16.30 uur even lagen te rusten, werd er aangeklopt. We gaven aan dat alleen de badkamer gedaan hoefde te worden. Vervolgens kwam de supervisor controleren of de kamer was schoongemaakt, waardoor we opnieuw werden gestoord. Daarna kwamen de supervisor en de schoonmaakster samen terug, waarbij het leek alsof de schoonmaakster werd aangesproken op iets wat wij zelf hadden gevraagd. Dit voelde ongemakkelijk voor zowel ons als de medewerker.
Ook op de dag van vertrek hadden we een minder prettige ervaring. Na het ontbijt konden we onze kamer niet meer in omdat er nog een openstaand bedrag op de rekening stond. We waren hiervan op de hoogte en wilden dit gewoon bij het uitchecken afrekenen. In plaats daarvan moesten we eerst naar de receptie, waardoor we bijna te laat kwamen voor onze planning. Met een creditcardgarantie op de kamer voelt dit niet erg gastvrij.
Al met al heeft het hotel goede faciliteiten en een prima locatie, maar op het gebied van onderhoud, gastvrijheid en communicatie is er zeker ruimte voor verbetering.
