Disappointing

My family has stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Oceanfront in Myrtle Beach for the past five years, and we’ve always enjoyed our vacations here. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing.

When we arrived, the room appeared clean, but the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was barely hanging on the wall. On our last night, I also noticed what appeared to be mold growth on the ceiling in the second bedroom. It looked as though someone had attempted to treat or cover it, but it was still clearly visible.

The biggest concern was the pool area. From the day we arrived until we checked out, the same food and trash remained on the pool deck, making it appear that it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. In previous years, I would often see staff vacuuming the pools early in the morning, but I never saw that during this stay. Each morning, I could still see sand settled on the bottom of the pools before they opened, which gave the impression that they were not being maintained as they had been in the past.

I also frequently smelled marijuana around the pool area. I understand the hotel cannot control every guest’s behavior, but it was noticeable throughout our stay.

We’ve made many wonderful memories at this hotel over the years, which makes it especially disappointing to write this review. Sadly, based on this experience, we have decided this will be our last stay.

Pros:

I would definitely recommend. View of the ocean with balcony. More than enough seating around the pools. Dinner was excellent
All staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is third party booking. When I call your number it sent me to booking.com which I thought was your direct line. Confusing to me.

Nowhere near what I expected

I paid almost $1700 for that stay and had to clean the toilet when I got there. I expected more bc I have stayed at the Hilton a few times so I expected the best. I also thought I would have an actual kitchen not a kitchenette. The floors were nasty and not 1 person stopped by to take trash or offer more towels or rags during our stay. If I decided to go with a Hilton hotel again I would not choose the Hampton Inn in any location.

Pros:

The room space was excellent. Unfortunately, my room was on the first floor and overlooked the pool. There was a lot of noise during the day and late into the night. The bathroom had double sinks however the cold water did not work in one of the sinks. The handle was missing off the sink decor, the wallpaper was pealing of the wall, the toilet paper holder was loose from the wall, and the air condition went out on Thursday night thru Friday afternoon, the carpet had a lot of stains and the and we never had room service to come in and accurately clean the room during our entire visit. Bathroom tissue ran out and I had to go to the front desk to rest clean towels and bathroom tissue.

One of the best hotels I have in years
Pros:

We sleep super well and we have a wonderful time ,Our room was really nice and we even had extra bed left, confortable well equipped , clean with minimal issues during our stay I will definitely stay here in the future

Cons:

Bathrooms need upgrade our bathtub was very slow draining the water
also breakfast wasn’t to good, decent but not my favorite ,I feel like they have so much bread and not other things I only eat there my first night and we went to somewhere else the other 2 mornings otherwise our stay was pleasant and we love the room
