Front desk staff
Hotel is old and the hardware works the opposite of what I’m used to. We couldn’t get in the room so the keys were re-keyed but couldn’t get in. Turns out you have to lift the door handle up to open the door. Then couldn’t get shower to turn on also but needed instructions. The smoke alarm started to chirp so they sent a young man to turn it off. He didn’t have a battery with him so he took it downstairs to see if he could find a battery. He couldn’t get it to work so we were without a smoke detector. We stayed 2 nights but housekeepers didn’t clean our room after the first night
Nothing.
It was truly a terrible experience. There is a big difference between a historic building and one that is old, neglected, and poorly maintained.
In my opinion, the hotel should not accept guests until the carpets are replaced. The carpets in both the hallways and the rooms were extremely old and dirty. I genuinely believe they were dirty enough to pose a health risk.
The walls were also very thin, making it easy to hear noise from the neighboring rooms and the floor above. It was almost impossible to get a good night’s sleep.
I stayed here for three nights only because I was on a limited budget. I definitely would not recommend this hotel. Avoid staying here if you can.
Buena ubicación. En pleno centro, a distancia caminable de muchos lugares.
El hotel está un poco decaído, le falta cariño.
It was a neat old hotel. Location was perfect
Lack of refrigerator and microwave
The proximity of everything
How short our stay was

More lighting in the room. No over head light. Very dark, needed to use flashlight to find things in my suitcsse

Instalaciones muy antiguas
The hotel was in a great location and very interesting due to the historical nature. We were offered a very affordable upgrade to a historical suite which we took, and it was really cool seeing the way the hotels used to be built and all the history; the floors were uneven due to the hotel shifting over time, the fireplace had the original marble mantle, the bathroom sink had neat sideways taps, etc. It was a beautiful exterior, walkable in downtown, and dog friendly.
While the historical suite was cool and clean, it was a bit run down. The carpets were stained/worn and had bleach spots on them from cleaning, the fireplace was decorative only, and the windows (on the 4th floor) are low set (below waist) and open fully with no screens/bars/protection - a falling hazard for kids/dogs. No A/C. Still a cool room, but if I go back, I'd probably elect to keep a modern/updated room.
The location was good and the receptionist was very good.
The room was a little noisy- we could hear our neighbors and footsteps from the room above us. The pillows were hard and not comfortable.
Awesome location. The hotel has character being an older building but it can be quirky if you are expecting a resort style visit. Being downtown it is a little walk to get to Cannery Row. But the walk is nice and doable.
Location.
The location an staff were good.
I was given the wrong size bed. I booked for a queen an I was given a broken full size bed. I'm 7months pregnant both my self and my fiance are over 6ft. The room had mold in both windows and growing in the shower. I had to wipe our bathroom down because there was what looked loke blood on the light switch, the bathroom sink, and the toilet.
Location and hotel architecture
Water temperature in the shower changed when a toilet was flushed
La ubicación
El ruido
No me gustó nada
Estaba viejo y sucio.
Wonderful experience again. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Convenient to local restaurants, aquarium and peer. Our go to for when we visit Monterrey.
