The staff really made this place memorable. From the front desk, shuttle drivers, and bell captains to the restaurant staff on the top floor and in the breakfast room, every person we interacted with was fabulous! They were kind, friendly, fun and helpful.

We've stayed at the Westin Portland Harborview previously, back in 2018, so we were excited to be back for another vacation in Portland. However we were surprised to find that 8 years later the hotel has seemingly had nothing renovated or updated. The room felt trapped in time and desperately needs to be revamped. The wallpaper was peeling and TV didn't have any smart features to use our streaming apps during our stay (I feel like that's the standard at most big hotel chains of this caliber). The room wasn't very clean as there were smudges on the mirrors and the tile floor near the entryway had very visible mop streaks all over. The "harborview" we paid extra for was pretty mediocre. 3 of the 4 pillows were really uncomfortable for sleeping (the loft insanely high making them perfect for a wrecked neck in the morning) and we didn't have any extra pillows in our closet. The hotel also lost power for several hours during our first night-morning which woke us up. Was difficult to get back to sleep as we had no AC in the room.

We opted to bring our dog on this trip and she was anxious the entire stay because they put us in the room directly across from the linen storage. Why you would do this knowing someone is staying with their dog is beyond me (I had pre-booked the room 2mos. in advance with additional pet fee added during booking). Our girl would hear the staff going in and out of the storage room thinking they were entering our own room and would start barking. This was a big inconvenience for us and I'm sure other guests in rooms nearby weren't thrilled about it either.

One feature of the hotel that we previously enjoyed was the penthouse bar for it's fantastic view of the harbor at night - and this was something that influenced our decision to book our stay here again. However our cocktails were just okay, nothing to write home about and pricey, and we wished there were a few more options for apps. I was looking to order a cheese board but it didn't include any meats, so it didn't warrant the high price tag.

One last notable disappointment was that their Wifi wasn't great as I couldn't use my VPN on any devices and we also couldn't connect our portable ring camera to keep an eye on our pup while we grabbed a quick drink at the bar. We've used it on other trips without issue, so that impacted our willingness to stay at the bar a little bit longer.

Overall we left feeling disappointed and will likely try a different hotel during our next stay in Portland that offers more modern amenities and updated rooms.

Loved the rooftop restaurant; it was perfect place to unwind after a long day of traveling on a very rainy evening.

The rooftop bar was great for overlooking Portland and watching the sunset. Room was spacious. They held our bags for us after checkout to go to the museum.

Such an enormous upgrade from the Eastland Hotel. Super clean and friendly!!! The shower was amazing!!!!!!

The atmosphere

Stayed here for son’s college graduation that was at arena down street. Service was pleasant, and valet service was prompt & friendly. Bonus was rooftop bar/restaurant with great views & cool vibes.

Main hotel in town center. A bit old and worn, but apparently works for a meeting hotel. Expensive parking with odd arrangement with city lot next door. Harborview was actually an excellent view of the parking lot, but... Very near the Portland Art Museum - and several excellent restaurants. Staff very helpful
