Having met some friends here for cocktails and small appetizers, and I was wildly impressed. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff (Tegan, Tahlia, Heather, Lucy, and Leah) were all so lovely and knowledgeable. They provided amazing service and I would highly recommend a visit in.
It is always a pleasure to stay at the Caledonian. The reception desk is so welcoming. Erin always remembers my name, acknowledges Diamond status and is genuinely friendly. Lukasz, Ellie and Ellis excel in providing a culinary and crafted cocktail experience. Ellie makes an amazing cosmopolitan. At breakfast we met Louisa who was an absolute delight. Thanks to the whole team who provided us with another exceptional stay. See you all again very soon.

I’ve stayed here before with my partner, and we love it. We go here for a wee ‘getaway’ and it is just that. Clean, lovely big rooms, beds are so comfortable and the food and spa just tops it off. Our air con stopped working, and the staff immediately dealt with the issue, and moved us to a room, almost identical to the one we paid for, that had working air con. As someone who has a condition that means I can’t regulate my temperature, this was amazing. Up and beyond.

The room was excellent, beautiful bathroom with a lovely view of the city. The location was perfect, a 15 minute walk to most places. My husband and I are vegetarians, the breakfast had everything you could possibly want, very good variety nothing was too much trouble. Staff were wonderful.
My husband and I stayed for two nights, the room we stayed in on the first night was not value for money, small and dark with building work being carried outside my window. I complained but the hotel was fully booked so I could not be moved until the following day but the room we were moved to was well appointed, a good size with stunning views over the city. The staff were very helpful and could not be faulted.

Excellent stay at The Caledonian Edinburgh. The hotel has a real sense of character and presence, with a great combination of classic prestige and comfort in a fantastic location. It feels like one of those hotels that gives the stay a bit of weight rather than just being a place to sleep.
What stood out most, however, was the level of service. A special thank you to Eren Joseph from reception and guest relations for the excellent care throughout the stay. He was professional, attentive, thoughtful and genuinely committed to making sure everything was handled properly. That kind of personal attention makes a real difference and leaves a lasting impression.
The Caledonian is a hotel with strong atmosphere and quality, but service is what made this stay especially memorable. Eren Joseph deserves clear recognition for representing the hotel at a very high level. I would gladly stay here again.
We had the best experience and stay out of the three stops we had in Scotland here at the Caledonian. The staff was extremely hospitable. The room was pristine and very high class. The windows had extra layers to help with sound proofing, other than a siren it was quiet even though we had a streetside room on the first floor. The waiters in the bar and restaurant were all pleasant and helpful. My family enjoyed the place so much it was a challenge to get them out to explore the city. I utilized the gym one day and it was also very clean, had fresh towels and ample room for a few to use the space at the same time.

The service was exceptional from start to finish. Every member of the team delivered outstanding hospitality — Lucy, Evie, Leah, Danna (our host), and Lucas, who ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the evening.
A special thank you as well to the doorman for the warm and welcoming arrival, and to the reception team for their kindness and for accommodating us while we charged our phones. Every interaction felt respectful and genuinely thoughtful.
I’ve always held this hotel in high regard, and this experience only reinforced that. I would gladly return and spend another £500+ on a day here without hesitation. Thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable experience.
