We typically gravitate toward boutique hotels when traveling, but the JW Marriott Lima changed our perspective. From start to finish, the experience was excellent.
Before our arrival, the concierge team was incredibly helpful in assisting with restaurant reservations, transportation, and activity planning. Our airport pickup in Lima went smoothly, and upon arrival, we were delighted to find our ocean-view room ready, complete with a thoughtful anniversary welcome.
The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable. Breakfast each morning was abundant and delicious, with a wonderful variety of local fruits and Peruvian flavors. Most of all, the staff throughout the hotel were warm, professional, and genuinely attentive.
The location is also excellent, with very easy access to Barranco thanks to the newer bridge connection—it’s about a 10–15 minute leisurely walk along the coast.
We stayed three nights and are already missing our time there.
On our recent trip to Peru we upgraded to the JW Marriott in Miraflores and we were so happy with our decision. The hotel is well located across the street from shops and restaurants and all the rooms have vies out to the Ocean. Miraflores is a very beautiful part of Lima and there is a great walking path along the cliffs by the ocean. The breakfast was very extensive and the servers were all very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel for your trip into Lima!
On our trip to Peru with our young children, we really enjoyed our stay at JW Lima. The location was perfect. The rooms were spacious and clean!
Would definitely return to stay again!
Ok the hotel is beautiful right smack in the middle of Miraflores towering over the mall and looking over the ocean. The lobby is beautiful plenty of seating and with a spectacular views. I stayed in room 912 on the ninth floor with had beautiful views the room is well thought out and the black out roll down shades was a good touch. Now for sleep quality between the street noise and the a/c makes a constant on and off noise I barely got any sleep. It’s a shame because every else is great. We had breakfast included with our stay which btw had a good selection and a nice view as you enjoy your food. Location of this hotel is great and it is our luxury but at least for me sleep was not good. So if you’re a deep sleeper this is the hotel for you. Everything else checks the box.
The JW Marriott Lima has several things going for it. The location in Miraflores is excellent, the staff I encountered were professional and pleasant, and my room had an amazing view. On the surface, it has the polish you would expect from a hotel in this category.
The room itself was on the smaller side, but it was thoughtfully designed and did not feel cramped. Mirrors were placed strategically, and the bathroom had an open feel while still offering privacy with large pocket doors. It was a smart use of space.
Unfortunately, my stay was affected by two things that matter a lot to me: sleep and evening dining options.
I was on the 6th floor, and while the view was beautiful, I heard constant street noise throughout the night. I live in the mountains and am not used to city noise, so this may not bother everyone the same way, but for me it was very disruptive.
The mattress was also extremely hard. I understand that mattress preference is personal, and some people like a firm bed, but this felt well beyond firm. After long travel days, a comfortable bed matters, especially in a hotel at this level.
The dinner options were also more limited than I expected. The main restaurant focuses on Nikkei cuisine, which can be wonderful when that is what you are in the mood for. But if you simply want to sit at the bar with a glass of wine and have a more traditional or casual dinner, there are not many choices. The other option was the Market, with a few sandwiches and salads, which felt more like lunch than dinner.
Overall, this is a well-located hotel with good service, beautiful views, and a smart room layout, but it was not the most comfortable stay for me. If you are sensitive to noise, prefer a softer mattress, or want broader dinner options in the hotel, those are worth considering before booking.
