It was our first weddimg anniversary at Marriot. It was amazing. Head executive showed us how to eat the crab properly. And his recommemdation to eat the eggtart with salty carramel ice cream was outstanding. Forward to revisit on our 2nd anniversity.
We visited for our 5th anniversary and greatly enjoyed our experience, the selection of dishes was spectacular, particularly the seafood, including lobster and steamed octopus.
The level of service was first-class, staff were able to fluently communicate both in Korean and English for both of us, and the service and recommendations of Mr Hyungchul Lim made our night memorable.
Hotel is Very clean. Great hospitality. Two weeks stay made me feel like home. Starting from the bell desk with greetings to helping us get a taxi to referrals etc.. and the restaurant experience Hyung Chul Lim made our dining experience filled with laughter and very enjoyable.
We had such a wonderful stay at JW Marriott Hotel Seoul. The hotel itself was beautiful and comfortable, but what really made our visit special was the amazing service from the staff.
A huge thank you to Noah, Hana, Yena, and Agnes. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with such warm smiles and made us feel genuinely cared for. Whenever we had a question or needed help, they responded quickly and thoughtfully. They also checked in on us and paid attention to the little details, which made everything feel so easy and comfortable.
What impressed us most was that their kindness never felt forced or scripted. They were friendly, professional, and genuinely wanted to make sure we were having a good time. Thanks to them, we were able to relax and enjoy every moment of our stay.
Noah, Hana, Yena, and Agnes truly made our visit memorable, and we really appreciate everything they did for us. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this hotel!
Noah, Hana, Yena, Agnes
I celebrated my 40th birthday at The Griffin last week and I had a blast! Special Thanks to Logan, April and Eddy in making sure that I have an unforgettable birthday in Korea
They were all such a sweet heart! They show what Korean hospitality is. It was an amazing experience and quality service whole night long. Add up the view and the ambience, it made a great place for a birthday celebration! Would love to come back again!
We've been at most of the five-star properties in Seoul at this point, and the JW Marriott is our favorite. The pool and sauna alone are worth it. Both are well maintained and never feel crowded, and the sauna is a genuine one with hot and cold baths.
The executive lounge is the other reason we book here. Good spread throughout the day, plenty of seating, and the staff pay attention. Hana checked us in at the lounge and went well beyond what the job asks. She sorted out a few things for us without being asked and made the whole arrival easy after a long day. If someone at the hotel is reading these, she deserves to hear about it.
Our son had a meltdown in the lounge during breakfast the next day and Nara stopped what she was doing to help settle him down. She was patient and kind about it when she could easily have walked past.
Rooms are comfortable, location is convenient, but the service is what makes this place.
I stay at this hotel about once a year for business, but otherwise choose other hotels when visiting Seoul. After several stays, I still do not understand why it is so highly rated.
The first drawback is the location. While the hotel sits directly above the Express Bus Terminal, this also means the surrounding roads are frequently congested. Being next to a major department store adds to the traffic and makes walking to and from the subway unpleasant during busy times. I also found the lack of clear signage from the subway to the hotel surprising. Unless you already know to use Exit 2, finding the entrance can be unnecessarily confusing. I had to smile when the guest survey asked whether the hotel felt “serene.”
The rooms are unremarkable for a hotel in this price category, and some long-standing issues remain. Some are simply design choices, such as the unusually short bathtubs. Others should have been addressed by now. For example, the wooden shower floor can flip up if you step on the edge. I have noticed this on multiple stays over the past ten years, yet it still has not been fixed.
The elevator situation is another recurring frustration. During busy periods, it can take a surprisingly long time to get from your room to the lobby. Part of the reason appears to be that the hotel attracts many non-resident guests for its restaurants and other facilities, so the check-in level (8F) often feels more like a busy public space than the entrance to a luxury hotel.
Breakfast is expensive, and while the selection is extensive, I found it surprisingly limited in healthier, high-protein options. There are plenty of pastries and carbohydrate-heavy dishes, but basics such as non-fat Greek yogurt are missing. The cappuccinos I have had during my last two stays were also the worst I have had in Korea, which is disappointing given the country’s generally excellent coffee culture.
Service is generally professional, but the occasional failures undermine an otherwise positive experience. On my most recent stay, my room was serviced even though the Do Not Disturb sign was activated. When I asked how this had happened, I was initially told that I had not turned it on. Only after I asked them to verify the logs more carefully did they acknowledge that the problem was on the hotel’s side. A mistake can happen, but assuming customer error before checking the facts is not the level of service I expect from a hotel in this category.
Overall, this is an adequate hotel, but I find it difficult to justify either its reputation or its price compared with several other luxury hotels in Seoul. For me, it is a 3 out of 5 experience rather than the exceptional one reflected in many of its reviews.
There is a difference between luxury and genuine hospitality, and JW Marriott Seoul delivers both flawlessly.
From the moment I returned for my second stay, Helen Kim and her team remembered my name, my preferences, and made me feel like I was coming home rather than checking into a hotel. The concierge team went above and beyond with shopping advice, reservations, and even helping navigate exclusive store access.
As a vegetarian, finding great meals while traveling in Seoul can be challenging, but the Executive Lounge consistently offered thoughtful vegetarian and vegan options. Their incredible vegetarian pho alone is worth returning for.
One of the true highlights was the authentic Korean sauna and hot spring. It wasn’t just relaxing it was an opportunity to experience an important part of Korean culture in a beautiful, peaceful setting.
What impressed me most was the honesty and integrity of the staff. After I accidentally left my passport and cash, Helen and her team immediately coordinated with my next hotel to ensure everything was safely secured before I even realized they were missing.
There is a Korean proverb: “가는 정이 있어야 오는 정이 있다” “Kindness given returns as kindness received.” That perfectly captures my experience. The warmth, generosity, and professionalism shown by everyone at JW Marriott Seoul created memories I’ll never forget.
If you’re looking for a hotel that offers exceptional service, authentic Korean hospitality, outstanding wellness facilities, and a team that truly cares about its guests, this is the place to stay. I cannot wait to return.
Kind and clean
Busy traffic in front of hotel
The overall experience was great - location, service, amenities, and the food at the lounge. We will revisit again.
整體的高品質

My wife and I recently completed a five night stay at this fabulous hotel. It is easy to see now, why it is so highly rated on this site. It is far from central, but its proximity to the transport network means that this doesn't really matter.
We got the Arex train from Incheon and then an Uber from Seoul station - all very quick and efficient. We arrived a little early and were asked if we were Bonvoy members - when we said we were Titanium, we were whisked up to the lounge and checked in by a lovely lady called Yena. The staff who greeted us in the lobby and the lounge set the tone for the whole stay - they were excellent. In fact it was the staff that set this hotel a few notches above other equivalent hotels. Without exception they were helpful and a credit to the brand - this was shown by the lad who first met us in the lobby to take our cases. He saw us later well away from the hotel as he was on his way home, he recognised us and approached us to see if we need any help or directions. Top class!
Our room on the 31st floor was clean, quiet and comfortable - everything you would expect form a hotel of this calibre. The bed was excellent.
The other thing that makes this hotel stand out is the Exec Lounge. The service, the food and the staff again could not be faulted. The lounge is open 6.30am to 11.30pm 2ith breakfast served until 10am. There are then evening hors d'oeuvres from 4.30pm until 9pm. The breakfast offers wonderful variety of foods to suit the varied palettes of the clientele - including and egg chef and the ubiquitous ( very nice) kimchee.
The evening offering was also very good with a chef on hand to prepare Pho to order and a good variety of hot and cold food. All washed down with an excellent choice of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to wash the food down.
The Marquis Fitness Club is another 5 star feature. Slots in the swimming pool have to be booked, but this isn't a problem.
Beneath the hotel is the huge Shinsegae shopping mall with lots of luxury outlets and a loads of other shops and restaurants.
The metro station called Seoul Express Bus Terminal is also under the hotel. It gives access to three metro lines, and there are loads of bus stops outside on the main road. Seoul public transport is excellent and, if you are a foreign tourist, I recommend the 'Climate Card' , which gives unlimited travel on the Metro and buses for a very reasonable price.
I have nothing negative to say about the hotel - we are glad we chose it and can't wait to return.
