Arrived on Tuesday and cannot fault this hotel in any way. I will write a further review in time but I have to say that the animation/entertainment team here are so friendly and kind.
Since arriving I have made a glass necklace, made mojo sauce, had a tour of the hotel’s amazing arts(by Caesar Manrique) attended the mixology class with Chris(a fabulous mixologist!!) All that within three days. You can do as much or as little as you please. Joana, Barbara and Soraya have made us feel so welcome and encouraged us in all the activities. This hotel is so lucky to have such amazing staff and we will definitely be returning as soon as possible.
We have stayed at Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote three times and have always absolutely loved it. The hotel itself is beautiful, the location is fantastic, the staff are welcoming and attentive, and there is a genuinely warm and relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. It has always felt like a special place to us, which is why we have chosen to return on several occasions.
Unfortunately, our most recent stay has left us with mixed feelings. On our final day, we discovered that all of the cash had been removed from a birthday card in our room. The money was a birthday gift from my elderly father, which made the situation particularly upsetting. There were several birthday cards displayed on the table in our room, but only the card containing the cash had been targeted. This made the incident feel deliberate rather than accidental.
We immediately reported our concerns to the General Manager, Fabien Drogue, who listened to us and advised that an investigation would be carried out and that we would receive an update following this. We appreciated that the matter was taken seriously, but the discovery cast a shadow over what had otherwise been a wonderful holiday.
It’s been 5 weeks since the incident and 3 weeks ago I also emailed Chloe Binham who we’ve previously dealt with & has always been super helpful and friendly to follow up on the matter and seek an update on the investigation. However, at the time of writing this review, I have not yet received a response. The lack of communication has added to our disappointment and has left us feeling that our concerns have not been fully addressed.
It is difficult to reconcile such a positive overall experience with an incident that left us feeling disappointed and unsettled. We still have great affection for this hotel and the many staff members who work so hard to make guests feel welcome. However, we feel it is important to share our experience and hope that the investigation provides some answers, reassurance, and improved communication for future guests.
Overall a beautiful hotel that we have loved visiting, but unfortunately this incident, and the lack of follow-up, has affected our confidence and our memories of an otherwise excellent stay.
Cotsworth family
My wife visited this hotel when it first opened in 1977 to provide a review for her travel company. She was really impressed with it and as a result we always said we would stay there. Anyway after nearly 50 years ( yes 50) we finally took the plunge and we weren't disappointed.
The hotel's design with its internal tropical gardens, beautiful swimming pool and many artistic touches is fantastic. Everything from reception to dining areas to bedrooms is kept immaculately clean and the staff were really friendly..a special shout out here to Soraya who practically adopted us , Joane and the other animation team members, and Guillem and the girls at the Shack Bar . As for food, there was so much choice both in terms of the different restaurants on offer as well as the special theme nights in the main restaurant. I must also mention the high quality and range of drinks available.
There were some downsides compared with other hotels we have stayed at in the last 12 months:
1. At our last hotel all the sunbeds were cushioned whereas here they are only provided in the much more expensive Reserve area.
2. At our last hotel there was waiter service around the pool.
3. We found we could only make reservations at the special restaurants by staying up to midnight when they became available.
4. The bedcover turn down was carried out a bit too early in that we were often in the shower / undressed when the housemaid arrived.
5. We are environmentally aware and so we felt the daily replacement of pool towels was overkill.Instead we would have been happy to swap towels as and when necessary at a kiosk near the pool.
The above issues shouldn't be taken out of context as overall we were delighted with our holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return here and try other Melia hotels. Moreover we have already recommended the hotel to all of our friends
A beautiful hotel on the seafront. Very clean rooms and communal facilities. Restaurants are all good and the food is hot. Something for everyone. Amazing fish nights on a Monday and Thursday.
Staff all work incredibly hard and are very friendly. This is our third visit and it has improved since last summer. The only fault I can find is with the sunbeds as they are not padded but that is a minor issue. No need to rush down in the mornings as there are always sunbeds available.
We would recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing holiday with excellent food and service.
I was a bit dubious initially due to not visiting any of the canary islands prior. I needn’t have worried as the hotel was absolutely spectacular. The amenities and facilities at the Reserve were phenomenal and would definitely recommend the upgrade 100%. The food was good but like another comment, there were birds flying about in the buffet restaurant which put us off after seeing them land on the lovely food on offer. We pointed it out and the restaurant manager who removed a whole tray of sweet treats which is a shame.
Other than that, the ginger bar was our favourite. Not many places would provide top shelf liquor like grey goose vodka and Hendricks gin, it was amazing.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the staff were all so nice and attentive a real credit to the hotel. Thank you to Chloe who organised some fizz and treats in our room for both our wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday.
Outstanding property and can’t wait to come back.
I've recently returned from a 10 night stay at Paradisus Salinas and had a really great time.
I had a Reserve room and can really recommend the upgrade for the dedicated breakfast, lounge, pool, and bar.
My room was one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in - it was huge, with a hot tub on the balcony and the biggest bath in the room that I've ever seen! The room was well looked after, and housekeeping did a great job.
I tried all the restaurants and enjoyed all of them. I had read reviews about people not being able to book the restaurants, and there not being much choice for vegetarians; but I didn't have a problem with either. And the restaurants are very accommodating - I dined twice at Samira and they gave me some choices for different vegetarian options. I let them know on the day my choice, and it was prepared for my evening meal.
I tried a few of the activities - art therapy, bookmark painting, glass necklace making, wine tasting, and mojo sauce making. I enjoyed all of them.
I also went on the excursion to the old town of Teguise which was enjoyable. The guide was very knowledgeable and it's a pretty town to explore.
The staff are all very friendly and do their absolute best to look after you. From Chloe the hotel manager, through to Armando, Adrian, Pedro, Ursula, Hamza, Daniel, Carina, Soraya, Barbara - this is to name but a few (I'm sorry I can't remember more names, and hope I haven't got any wrong!). And all the staff at the reserve reception.
One small suggestion - the food in the Reserve Lounge could do with having labels so you know what it is. I don't think any of the little sandwiches etc were vegetarian.
We did the mixology class with Christian, would highly recommend. It was very fun and he happily accommodated me having a non alcoholic version as I’m pregnant. A must do if you’re staying in the hotel.
Hotel situated only 15 minutes from the airport, spacious rooms and a huge double bed and very comfortable, large balcony and plenty of food choices at meal times, the staff were absolutely brilliant and a credit to the hotel, plenty of options for drinks especially cocktails only downside was the main swimming pool not being heated 🥶
Our second visit to this hotel and we were really disappointed this time with the quality of the food served in the main restaurant.
One of our main concerns was the number of birds flying around in the restaurant, at all meal times, and how easy it was for them to land on the uncovered food to have a feast. I reported it to a number of staff, including the reception, only to be told the problem was being looked at, needless to say nothing changed during our stay, not very hygienic for the guests!!
Needless to say we avoided all of the food which the birds landed on, please see attached photographs.
At breakfast most of the food was only just lukewarm with the eggs congealed into one mass and there was a fairly thick skin on the beans, the hotplates the food were placed on were only lukewarm!!
At lunch and evening meals the same variety of food was offered many times with only a few changed throughout the week, again most of the food offered was only lukewarm.
Could not fault the hard work of all the staff did throughout the hotel but some areas of the hotel itself could do with some modernisation.
Unfortunately we would not say our stay this time was worth the cost of the holiday.
This was one of the best Anniversary vacation that we have had in a while. The customer relations, circle, and the reserve staff were all phenomenal. Thank you for your excellent customer service Chandi, Paula Leon, Estefania, Bastian, Priscilla, and the waiter/waitress staff. You made this anniversary vacation special.
Everything it was an amazing experience
Lot’s of old people not really a younger audience but that’s probably normal in this place.
Lovely hotel. Staff so friendly and helpful from kind welcome on arrival to daily dialogues checking happy with everything - special mention to Nelson.
Enjoyed all the food In buffet and meal in Italian restaurant. Second time visiting in 6 months and was as good as last time. Very happy to come again.
Another wonderful week spent at Paradisus Salinas .
Cannot fault the hotel at all . Food , staff , rooms all excellent .
Second time of staying here in the last year and will definitely return again.
Beautiful hotel with excellent facilities, spotlessly clean and super friendly staff.
As per many of the reviews already submitted for this hotel I would absolutely agree that:
1. The hotel is architecturally stunning and is kept spotless by the hard working team of cleaners and grounds people. However both the rooms and the swimming pool are showing signs of wear and in need of a little attention.
2. The staff are the key asset of this business. They are helpful, friendly and always happy to help make your holiday a success.
3. The dinks are plentiful and of good branded quality. Highly recommend some of the cocktails.
Unfortunately the hotel lets its self down badly with both the quality of the food it serves in the buffet restaurant and the lack of food hygiene in evidence.
Firstly, and most importantly, there were birds constantly flying around the open food, perching in the high ceiling above the food and often seen on the food feeding. One can only speculate the number of occasions a little extra was added to the salads on display! We did query this with the reception staff and were informed that the hotel were training up some birds of prey to scare off the sparrows and finches. We never saw any birds of prey while we were there. Additionally the risk of serious food poisoning to the guests is now and we could not understand why the hotel were not taking some immediate steps i.e. placing netting, putting open foods in closed containers etc. until such time as a more permanent solution could be found. Surely such a reputable hotel chain would not wish to put at risk the health of their customers.
Secondly the quality of food in the buffet was not to a standard that we found acceptable. Most of the food served was luke warm at best and this included the soups. There was no live cooking in evidence so that, at breakfast, for example, the eggs were dry and not too hot. I am all for the " you can always find something to eat" attitude towards foreign restaurants but I believe that it should still be served hot and to an acceptable standard.
What is equally as concerning, sadly not surprising though, is that Jet 2 reps were seen dining in the restaurant whilst we were there. This raises the question as to why they are not raising this with the hotel management. They must. at least. have been aware of the bird infestation issue.
Unfortunately it is for these reasons that we will not be returning to the hotel and could not, in all honesty, recommend it to others.
Staff fantastic and food
Sun beds was uncomfortable backache 😫
