Noisy but great location and staff
Pros:

The room was very comfortable and clean. The pool was fantastic and staff were so helpful.

Cons:

Our room was on level 2 on the street side. There’s a mosque across the room with a loudspeaker so the 4:30am call to prayer was quite loud in our room. There was also a busker at the traffic lights outside our window each night with music blaring until 10pm. Neither of these were the hotel’s fault but it was not restful so I would recommend a room facing the interior/pool side.

Great hotel with lovely staff
Pros:

Great location to explore Yogyakarta an easy stroll to Maliboro street for some shopping, hotel has some lovely restaurants we used all three and all were reasonably good priced.

The hotel arranged a transfer for us to the airport and all the staff were very friendly and super nice, I’d recommend staying at the Melia if you want a good central base to explores the wider region of Yogyakarta.

We will certainly be back as there is still so much we haven’t seen.
