És un hotel gran, amb molta gent i de tota mena. Malauradament, impressiona veure el malbaratament d’aliments. Molts dels turistes que s’hi allotgen no semblen valorar ni la feina dels treballadors. L’ambient al restaurant, tant a l’hora d’esmorzar com de dinar o sopar, és força desagradable. Sembla que alguns tinguin la sensació que el món s’ha d’acabar l’endemà: s’omplen els plats de menjar que després deixen sense acabar. Tampoc recullen les coses que els nens llancen a terra al voltant de la taula; i no em refereixo només a les restes de menjar, sinó també als coberts i als gots.
No és un ambient agradable per gaudir d’una escapada. De fet, acabes més estressat després dels àpats que abans d’entrar al restaurant.
El Katmandu és un hotel familiar, però, malauradament, et trobes amb hostes que no respecten les normes, per exemple, les que regulen les zones de fumadors. Al final, alguns acaben fumant on els sembla, fins i tot just al costat dels nens. Durant un espectacle, vaig avisar un treballador que hi havia persones fumant al costat dels bancs on seien els nens, alguns dels quals eren molt petits. Tot i això, no va fer res al respecte.
Pel que fa a l’habitació familiar, si sou una família de 4 persones, és força petita. Per a una estada de molts dies, es fa incòmoda, ja que gairebé no hi ha espai ni per penjar les tovalloles ni per deixar-hi la roba. Per a 2-3 nits es pot aguantar, però els llits no són gaire còmodes. El sofà llit tampoc: sembla que no tingui matalàs. I això que els nens no pesen gaire, però tot i així no hi podien dormir bé.
A més, durant la nit et pots trobar amb hostes que criden i piquen fort a les portes a altes hores de la matinada. El soroll se sent per tot arreu i no deixa descansar.
És cert que aquest últim aspecte no depèn directament de l’hotel, sinó del comportament dels mateixos hostes. Malauradament, durant la nostra estada ens vam trobar amb força comportaments incívics, especialment per part d'alguns turistes britànics.

Unfortunately, the hotel's main selling points were also our biggest disappointments.

We specifically chose Sol Katmandu Park & Resort because of its family-friendly facilities, expecting our 3.5-year-old daughter to enjoy hours of swimming and playing. However, the children's pool was absolutely freezing, despite the sea being pleasantly warm. The splash area was surprisingly small compared to the promotional pictures, and the water was equally freezing.

The indoor Soft Play area was another major disappointment. Children aged 0–3 are restricted to a tiny two-level playground, while children aged 4+ can access the much larger five-storey structure. I understand the safety considerations, but the facilities for younger children are extremely limited. Our daughter was bored after approximately seven minutes.

The restaurant felt more like a crowded office cafeteria than a four-star hotel restaurant. Some dishes were already cold when we arrived for dinner at 6:30 PM, and the atmosphere was often chaotic, with guests cutting queues and reaching over small children at the ice cream station. The cocktails were also disappointing. Their daiquiri, for example, was simply premade mix topped up with Sprite.

We also had an odd experience at reception when we asked why the vending machines were switched off. The receptionist seemed completely uninterested in helping or even checking the machines.

Another strange choice was scheduling the children's disco at 8:30 PM, which seems rather late for a resort primarily aimed at families with young children.

Ultimately, our biggest disappointment was the value for money. We paid a premium for a four-star family resort, primarily because of its attractions and children's facilities. Unfortunately, many of these were either unsuitable for our daughter's age or simply didn't live up to expectations.

Je to spis o bezohlednosti urcitych typu lidi ale bylo by fajn kdyby mel hotel nejaky system jak tyto pripady resit
