The location of the hotel is in a nice part of the old city. high concentration of places to eat for all budgets. Theres a small convenience store across from the hotel that caters for most things. sandwiches, ice cream, gum etc.
It started with the uber dropping us off on the main road and we had to walk with 3x large bags, a carry on bag and a stroller with my son. This was also not included in the in the hotel description. The hotel staff are well aware of this and wont assist you with luggage where you are dropped off. Also the hotel decides to renovate the facade in peak season when the temps are in the high 80s. We were not able to open the windows or draw the curtains because it was an active renovation. So the hotel brings a portable ac that pipes out the hot air through a window but the pipe wasnt fixed properly so the pipe kept falling out releasing the hot air into the room. I informed, rather reigned complaints upon the hotel and they never fixed it. oh and netflix doesn't work. I thought I was stuck in a third world country !! seriously it was that bad. Thankfully we were only there for 2 nights. We now at the novotel geneva, very nice hotel. Still no netflix BUT everything works including the AC !!!
Great location, close to everything. Staff are friendly and promptly assisted with anything we needed. Breakfast is awesome and the hotel library is amazing.

Rooms a bit warm if the weather is nice, but they provided a fan.

The location of Hotel Wellenberg is fantastic as it is within walking distance of major public transport hubs and places of interest. There are lots of beautiful shops, restaurants and bars within a few metres of the hotel, yet it still felt quiet and intimate. My wife and I liked the selection of food and drinks on offer at breakfast and the staff in the dining room were very welcoming and friendly. We had less interaction with the reception staff but they were also very professional and friendly.
The room was a little tired and in need of a refresh but it was very clean and tidy and towels were changed every day. We found the room a little stuffy as the windows couldn't be opened due to ongoing building works. The provided mobile air conditioning unit was a bit noisy and not particularly effective.

Para ser un hotel de cuatro estrellas estaba limpio pero muy descuidado ,el aire un aparato en medio de la habitación con salida por la ventana que hacía un ruido insoportable y eso no se puede admitir en un hotel así..el tamaño de la habitación tampoco se correspondía..vamos como mucho 20/21 metros no 28 como decía la publicidad..y el desayuno justito…

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht. Die Lage ist optimal. Frühstück vielfältige und ausreichend.
Leider war zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthaltes das Gebäude eingerüstet und es wurden Sanierungsarbeiten durchgeführt. Ein Punkt warum ich dieses Hotel ausgewählt habe, war dass es über eine Klimaanlage verfügt. Diese "Klimaanlage" war als Standgerät zwar vorhanden, jedoch so laut, dass es für den Betrieb in der Nacht nicht genützt werden konnte. Und aufgrund der Sanierung wurde man gebeten die Fenster geschlossen zu halten......

Air conditioning was a stand alone and it kept defaulting to 25 . It wasn’t cool and it also had a pipe out the window which was hot to touch hence the room still warm
The location is excellent. In the old town and close to everything.
The property was undergoing renovations - something we were not informed about. The pillows were awful , the bathroom dated and the breakfast area tired. The air conditioning sounded like we were on a plane. This hotel lacks warmth and needs to pay more attention to the needs of guests.

Your hotel was not up to standards of a 4-star boutique hotel. The pictures online are completely different than what the hotel actual is.
The room was 26 degrees the entire time. We were told we could not open our windows bc of the construction outside. There was no lobby with a restaurant or bar. The bathroom was rusty and in bad shape. The ceiling is very low (<6’4”)
Please address these issues or accurately represent your hotel online.
We stayed at the Wellenberg for 4 nights at the end of July 2026. While we greatly appreciated the reception staff allowing us to utilise our allotted room a little earlier, we have to say the appreciation ended there. Our room was small, dark and in a great need of updating. Our curtains (to block out the unbearable heat and direct sunlight) were threadbare and had numerous holes throughout the curtains. Our pillows were dreadful and we shuddered to know what was beneath the pillowcases. Our towels were grey and threadbare. There was no such thing as an amenity of any sort in the bathroom. Please bear in mind this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. The skirting board was falling off, the coffee table surface was peeling badly. The outside shutters were stuck half down and hence the portable air conditioner (4 star hotel)?So all up the air conditioner was incredibly deficient in providing any relief from the very hot summer we were having. All up we would NEVER stay in this terrible hotel again. Please people read some of the reviews carefully as some of the reviews written of this hotel did not match our terrible, horrible experience.
We had breakfast provided and at least the staff were cheery.
