Relaxing stay in the heart of the old town.
Pros:

The hotel is in the heart of the old town, so there is an amazing choice of restaurants and bars close by. We had breakfast on the sunny terrace, which was a very relaxing start to the day...the staff were super friendly too. We received a room upgrade at check-in, which made our stay that bit more special. We would certainly book the Wellenberg Hotel again, next time we're visiting Zurich.

Friendly, location, and breakfast.
Pros:

Location to many restaurants and shops. Not far from the train station. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the lady in there was very helpful. The lounge where you could wait after you checked out was great.

Cons:

Every now and then there was a smell coming from the bathroom. Perhaps the drains need some maintenance.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff
Pros:

Very nice hotel with great staff. Due to flight cancellation we only had 10 hours at the hotel rather than the planned 48 hours, made to feel very welcome and would have liked to stay longer.

Great location, but some improvements needed

Great location in the heart of Zurich

Overall, we had a great stay at Hotel Wellenberg. The standout feature is undoubtedly the location. It's right in the heart of the Old Town, making it incredibly easy to explore Zurich on foot, with restaurants, shops, and attractions all just a short walk away.

The room was comfortable, although both the bedroom and bathroom were on the smaller side (Superior Double with King Bed Room). While the hotel is pleasant and well maintained, I wouldn't really describe it as a boutique hotel. It feels more like a standard mid-range hotel without any particularly distinctive features or character that would normally define a boutique property.

Breakfast was adequade, and the beautiful outdoor terrace was a highlight. It was a lovely place to enjoy breakfast each morning and added to the overall experience.

The main downside was the air conditioning. We stayed during an unusually warm period in June, and the room never cooled down properly. The air conditioning is a portable unit with an exhaust hose vented through the window, and it struggled to keep the room cool. It was also quite noisy, so we couldn't leave it running for long periods or overnight.

Because of its central location, the hotel can be a little noisy at times, but that's to be expected when staying in the heart of the Old Town and it certainly didn't detract from our overall experience.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The location more than made up for the few minor shortcomings.

Cons:

Ar condicionado portátil!! Havia várias moscas no quarto, inclusive algumas mortas dentro das gavetas!! A cortina do chuveiro (sim, chuveiro com cortina em 2026!) tinha um cheiro muito ruim!! Café da manhã bem simples para um hotel que se diz 4 estrelas.

Great location and helpful staff
Pros:

Good location there were many restaurants and shops close by and easy walk to the river and trams and other transport. It was easy to get around. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful and their English was great.

Cons:

Rooms were tiny, not much room to move. The heat was oppressive with no air conditioning just a very loud fan that sounded like an aeroplane taking off. The bathroom was a bit dated and I felt it hadn’t been cleaned that well. Bed was not comfy super hard and the pillows were flat and uncomfortable which was a shame.
