An older hotel with food value, fantastic location, and wonderful staff.
Pros:

Location was perfect except you cannot get dropped off or picked up directly at the property due to limited vehicle traffic. But it’s not far.

Cons:

It’s an old property but well kept up. However, the vent fan in the bathroom didn’t work and USB outlets were all broken. Luckily we had adapters for the outlets. Breakfast wasn’t amazing but it was included which was nice. Bed was too firm but that seems to be normal in Europe.

Very disappointing stay. Noisy air cooler in the room plus heaps of disturbances and noise throughout the night into 6am
Pros:

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and fresh.

Cons:

The air cooler in the room had two settings… Very noisy + Extremely noisy and impaired our sleep both nights.

Secondly, having flown from Australia for 24 hours non stop + another 12 hours before getting our room, we went to bed at 7.30 pm… only to be completely awakened 07.35 by live music right outside our windows on level. The Hotel’s location has been outgrown by massive numbers of tourists who are loud and noisy. We will never go back to Hotel Wellenberg.

An A+ Stay in a Lively Quarter of Zurich's Altstadt
Pros:

A lovely small hotel perfectly located in the lively Niederdorf area of the Altstadt (Old Town), an easy walk to and from the train station, the River Limmat, Lake Zurich, and the many historic and cultural sites of the city. The hotel is situated amidst a wide variety of bars and restaurants, dessert spots and cafes, and small boutiques and shops, all within a few blocks and hidden in narrow alleys.

Everything in the hotel was sparkling clean and the breakfast delicious, with a large variety of fruits, meats, cheeses, yogurts, eggs and breads, plus a peaceful terrace to take your breakfast outside on a sunny morning. There is also a large library-area open to all guests, with coffee and water always available, and a "family" room with a huge TV, books, and video games available to play. On top of everything, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If we were regular travelers to Zurich, Hotel Wellenberg would definitely be our go-to place to stay.

Cons:

There was nothing we didn't like.

Ein charmantes Hotel in bester Lage mit hervorragendem Service
Pros:

Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen und bietet einen idealen Ausgangspunkt. Besonders hervorzuheben sind das super freundliche Personal sowie das Frühstück auf der Terrasse. Auch die Anreise mit dem Auto ist unkompliziert. Das moderne Parkhaus befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hotels und verfügt über zahlreiche Ladestationen für E-Fahrzeuge. Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung.

Cons:

Der einzige Kritikpunkt: Das Badezimmer dürfte sich in naher Zukunft über eine Modernisierung freuen. Während der Rest des Hauses einen sehr guten Eindruck hinterlässt, wirken Duschvorhang und Brause mittlerweile etwas aus der Zeit gefallen – besonders in dieser Preisklasse.
