Extremely disappointing service
Cons:

We arrived at 22:00 to be told the restaurant had just closed and that room service would not begin taking orders until 23:00 — a full hour in which your guests have no way of eating anything at all. We ordered four sandwiches at 23:00. They were delivered at 00:10: seventy minutes for four pre-packed sandwiches that needed only to be taken out of their packaging and put on a plate.

On 22 August we left our suitcases and rucksacks with your luggage store. One rucksack contained two laptops, a reMarkable tablet, chargers, glasses, books, and a carton of the solution my wife requires as part of her treatment. The carton was unopened and factory-sealed when the bag was handed to your staff — it was not leaking and could not have leaked.

The day of the arrival, when we collected the bag, the carton had been burst, consistent with heavy items being stacked on top of the rucksack or with the bag being dropped, and its entire contents had emptied inside, soaking everything in it. My work laptop no longer powers on. It is a company machine, and the damage to it is being handled separately by my employer, who will be in contact with the hotel directly. I raise it here because of what it says about how our property was treated, not because I am claiming for it.

Pros:

This was so close to the city center and all the amenities the city has to offer. It was just around the corner from our tour company as a bonus! Great facilities, the buffet breakfast was the best we had in Scotland.

Cons:

The hotel is challenging to find as the city is on 2 levels. I wish they had some instructions for this after booking.

Just not as expected from a 5 star Hilton
Pros:

The convenient location next to Waverley Station, near the Royal Miles and lots of restaurants coffee shops surrounding the place.

Cons:

It was under renovations, we were not notified for the same, had to replace the room due to water leak from the ceiling, one of the elevators got stuck in the middle of the floors. Scaffolding surrounding the building and blocking all windows. Even the room the we switched to had a leaking shower nozzel. Although the room had an AC but it seems that it wasn't functioning as it should.
