Highly disappointing stay (Avoid Room 130 and the Club Level)
Pros:

Journey Start:
LAX to Edinburgh via KLM. Check-in was great and quick.The Positives:

Room Space: The Junior Suite was spacious enough for three guests.Breakfast: Great self-serve selection, backed by highly attentive staff.

The Bar: Staff members are very friendly and highly knowledgeable.Location: Absolutely perfect for accessing both Old Town and New Town.

The Truthful Downsides:

DO NOT TAKE ROOM 130: It is located directly above the front desk and faces major street traffic.

Undisclosed Construction: The hotel failed to provide a construction advisory. We were placed in a room facing relentless 11:00 AM to 3:00 AM street projects. Due to the extreme street noise, we barely slept. Always insist on a room away from the street.

Club Level is a Waste (2/10): Compared to any other hotel club level we have ever used, this one delivers about 10% of what a proper club experience should be. Avoid paying extra for it.

Poor Management Communication: The front desk team lacks basic internal knowledge about what is actually happening inside the hotel.

Room Service Fail: The attached photo speaks for itself regarding the poor quality of the room service experience.

Verdict:This hotel is simply not worth the premium price tag. While it has its ups, the downs are far too low. If you want the exact same proximity, the Radisson across the street is likely a much better choice. Very disappointed.

To Management: Please save your generic "we are sorry" response paragraph. We already spoke with several managers during our stay and none of you could—or would—do anything to resolve these issues. Not hospitable or guest-friendly at all.

Edingburgh schöne Stadt komme wieder aber sicher nicht mehr im Hilton Hotel

Cons:

Auf unserem Stockwerk in den Zimmern ging die Klimaanlage nicht wir hatten Ventilatoren im Zimmer drei Stück an der Zahl. Zimmer war sehr schmutzig. Wir hatten Executive Lounge gebucht ist das Geld nicht wert. Auch wurden wir beim Check in nicht darauf hingewiesen das die Klima oder auch Lüftung nicht geht. Das Hotel ist ja nicht billig aber ist keine drei Sterne wert. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht Schade.

Excellent hotel near the Royal Mile in Edinburgh!
Pros:

Wanted to let people know that this was a wonderful hotel to stay at. Excellent location, excellent restaurant, customer service on point and most importantly, it has air conditioning, refrigerator and ample space in the room to put your luggage. I would definitely go back to this hotel. In July 2026, they are still remodeling it so no nice views from your hotel window but who cares about that when they provide so much more than a view. I rather have everything I just mentioned than a view! Also, we didn't hear a thing. They are remodeling but the noise starts around 9-10am when we were long gone from our room.

As a regular Hilton guest who has stayed at Hilton properties across the world, Hilton has always been my first choice, and I have consistently been a satisfied customer. Unfortunately, my recent stay at Hilton Edinburgh Carlton was a very disappointing experience.

While I truly appreciate the professionalism and kindness of your staff, the condition of the hotel fell far below the standards I expect from a Hilton property.

We booked two suites for our family (5 adults and 3 children) and informed the hotel in advance that we would require two extra beds in each suite. However, throughout our stay, only one extra bed was available. More concerning was that the bed was extremely old, uncomfortable, and in poor condition, with damaged springs making it impossible to sleep comfortably. If only one bed was available, it should at least have met Hilton’s quality standards. I have attached a photo for reference.

In addition, the master bed mattress was worn out, noisy, and equally uncomfortable. The suite carpets and overall room condition also appeared old and deteriorated, far from what one would expect from a Hilton suite. Photos are attached.

Lastly, after midnight, the air conditioning stopped working. As the windows were locked and could not be opened, the room became unbearably hot, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. I have attached photos/videos for reference.

As a loyal Hilton guest, I felt it was important to bring these issues to your attention. This experience has left me extremely disappointed, and unless these standards improve, I will seriously reconsider staying at or recommending Hilton Edinburgh Carlton in the future.

I hope you will take this feedback seriously and look into these concerns.

Hotel caro, sem café da manhã, funcionários mau educados, quarto pequeno, o hotel parece um labirinto la dentro.

Cons:

O quarto era pequeno e longe do elevador, tinha um barulho constante de motor de ar condicionado vindo dos fundos do hotel 24 horas por dia, os funcionários não ajudaram com as malas, o andar tinha escadas até chegar no quarto, funcionários da recepção pouco receptivos e pouco educados.

Not a good stay
Pros:

Stayed here a few times before and it’s always been decent. However, this time not so good. The check in guy was rude and was cheeky toward me. We called ahead to request a later check out and was told no issue just let the, know. He dismissed us off hand. I went back later and got someone else who sorted it. The room was ok. It there was zero view. Just scaffolding and boarding. No Bacardi I. The bar. The bar lady didnt even seem to know what it was. Doubtful if we will use this hotel again. As a long time Hilton honours member I was very disappointed.

Can't go wrong with this hotel, perfect for enjoying & exploring Edinburgh.
Pros:

From arrival, which was approx 30 min early, we were told our room was ready and were allowed a slightly early check in, this has not been permitted n other hotels, the check in itself was pretty straight forward and details about the hotel, breakfast times etc were discussed. The room itself was pretty spacious, with the facilities meeting a high standard. We were only in the room a few hours, where we met one of the housekeeping staff who asked if all was to our liking. Breakfast itself had no faults, the guys on overseeing breakfast were pretty efficient and the whole operation seemed a well oiled machine.
On checking out, the staff at the desk seemed like they genuinely cared that the stay was enjoyable and that we had everything we needed.
Its proximity to both the train station and the Royal Mile make it ideal for a base to explore the city centre.

Cons:

The view from our room was from the rear of the hotel, it was obstructed by scaffolding, I understand that this will be temporary, this was really the only negative from the stay.
