Spacious quiet room which was nicely decorated. Breakfast was self serviced with lots of choices. Good location near to University.
No issues as bar closed at 11pm. Not sure about noise if there was a function on.

Lack of communication between staff resulting in fewer options of Gf items at breakfast than advertised.

Water came through the ceiling from the room above.

Room was a nice size, shower was hot and powerful, breakfast was decent and staff were friendly.
There was a chunk out of bottom of the door in bathroom, car park was awful, managed to park and then got blocked in by 2 cars, had to pay to get a taxi in to town and back. Waited for 25 minutes for a cup of tea and coffee for breakfast.
Lovely room, extremely friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast. Good food in the restaurant. Really liked the location and had parking. Will definitely stay again.
Only things I could think was the door to the Roselyn suite stuck which was annoying. Also the shampoo and bodywash was empty in the shower.
Near son’s uni house, bars, restaurants, coffee shops. Parking on site, although had to park on neighbouring road as it was drop off weekend and very busy! Comfortable and staff were exceptionally friendly. We were in superior superking room and comfortable with modern shower room.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bar area is nice and selection of drinks was good. Comfy beds. Free upgrade to the Prince of Wales suite.
Rooms were too warm from around 8am. Bathroom was a bit tired and only had a shower, no bath. Noise from staff outside the room in the morning chatting/moving things around.

I was doing the great north run so wanted a hotel in the local. The Cally was just great apart from the price hike due to the event. I would definitely recommend it for it's proximity, the ambience and the service.
Because everything else was good, I only have a slight gripe. After the run and a long shower I returned to the bar for a beer and something to eat. I ordered pigs in blankets, very nice and roast potatoes and gravy. The spuds were a let down as they seemed to be lunchtimes warm ups. Not pleasant and only just warm. Didn't complain as I didn't feel it warranted it, plus I was too hungry to wait for anything else.
