Beautiful hotel, amazing location, almost perfect.
Pros:

Amazing location, beautiful facilities and very good food. The staff in the Amar restaurant are wonderful.

Cons:

The room was a bit ordinary at this price and the breakfast staff were a bit grumpy.

Super Resort für Erwachsene, die etwas mehr ausgeben wollen für ein tolles Erlebnis.
Pros:

Ein super Hotel/Resort. Es war so viel Gutes dabei, dass die kleinen negativen Sachen nicht groß ins Gewicht fallen.

Zimmer waren super, Aussicht vom Balkon war genial
Dadurch, dass das Resort auf einer Halbinsel steht, hatten wir die Sicht vom Balkon direkt aufs Meer und dahinter die Stadt Agios Nikolaos. Sehr romantisch Abends.
Ich glaube es gibt kein einziges Zimmer ohne atemberaubender Aussicht!
Seit langem in Europa und Afrika (wo ich so in letzter Zeit war) das erste Mal, dass keine Glastür im Bad war. Endlich eine Tür, ganz normal aus Holz und gut verschließbar.

Der Resort-private Sandstrand ist hervorragend. Wer Sand nicht mag, kann gleich daneben auf flache Felsen oder sogar ins Gras gehen und dort die Liegen verwenden. Es ist ganztägig der Bademeister da und kümmert sich um Alles. Sehr freundliches Personal und nicht aufdringlich, wie mancherorts in Griechenland. Die Freundlichkeit der Bademeister ist nicht aufgesetzt, sondern wirkt natürlich. Also meinerseits ein großes Lob an die Bademeister.
Es gibt 2 große Pools mit wunderschöner Aussicht, aber wir waren nur am Strand, also kann ich dazu nichts sagen.

Das Frühstück war toll und vielseitig. Für jeden Geschmack war was dabei. Es gab nicht nur griechische Kost, sondern darüber hinaus alles was das Herz begehrt.
Eines der Lokale im Resort (weiß nicht mehr wie es heißt) kann ich auch empfehlen. Etwas teuer, aber man bekommt gute, ausreichende Portionen eines hochwertigen Essens. Ich war danach satt und zufrieden.

Cons:

Das Hotel/Resort ist eigentlich super, sodass das hier Meckern auf hohem Niveau ist.

Zimmer:
Unser Zimmer war ausreichend groß, aber wir hätten uns etwas mehr Platz gewünscht.
Die elektrischen Schalter für Licht und Klimaanlage waren viel zu kompliziert. Man braucht einen Doktor-Titel in Elektronik um das zu verstehen. Aber es gab auch althergebrachte Schalter, also war es nicht so schlimm.
Das Waschbecken war im Flur direkt bei der Tür des Zimmers statt im Bad.

Personal/Service:
Prinzipiell waren alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Freundlichkeit schien auch nicht gespielt, sondern ehrlich.
Aber zwei Dinge haben gestört.
1. Beim Check-In wurden wir auf eine Couch gesetzt und die Rezeptionistin stand neben uns als sie uns alles erklärt hat. Das hatte ein Feeling von Über- und Unterordnung. Außerdem hat sie so leise gesprochen, dass ich die Hälfte nicht verstanden habe und mehrmals nachfragen musste.
2. Die Zimmer wurden pro Tag 2-3x vom Service besucht. 1x Reinigung, 1x Check der Minibar (warum auch immer das Jemand Extra machen muss), 1x Abendbesuch bei dem die Vorhänge geschlossen wurden.
Wir fanden das etwas übertrieben und so, als müsste man uns kontrollieren.

Preise:
Das Hotel ist so schon sehr teuer und die Zusatzpreise für Massagen, Restaurants usw. sind noch schlimmer. Eine einstündige Paarmassage für 400€ ist lächerlich. Dafür haben wir woanders auf Kreta 8x einstündige Massagen erhalten.
Aber ja, wenn man ins Minos Palace Resort geht, hat man wohl keine Geldprobleme...

Longevity Prinzip:
Das Hotel ist auf Longevity ausgerichtet.
Allerdings hatten wir das Gefühl, dass das eher halbherzig gelebt wird. Ein Beispiel ist, dass man bei Zimmer+Frühstück zwar beim Frühstück und 1x pro Tag aufs Zimmer jeweils eine 1liter Flasche Wasser bekommt, aber den Rest muss man dann extra bezahlen. Dabei wäre Wasser trinken wohl bei Longevity ziemlich wichtig. Naja...

Es gäbe noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten, aber der Platz ist aus.

The location was perfect, the resort impeccably clean and spotlessly maintained, the comfort of the bed & bedding was exceptional - the breakfast buffet was faultless and the comfort of the pool/beach loungers 10/10

Cons:

I did fid it a little staid in as much as a little more ambient music would have created a more relaxed vibe & sadly some of the staff didn’t smile at all

I honestly recommend it
Pros:

Exceptional hotel. Everything about it was amazing. The smell, the fact that they prepare your room for sleep, attention to every small detail, very helpful staff, the location. The food and drinks are really good, although quite pricey.

Cons:

Lack of a smart TV. It’s unbelievable to me that so many “high end” hotels still have old TVs. At least put a Chromecast or Apple TV. But other than that, everything is amazing.
