Due to refurbishment we stayed at the sister hotel Pennyhill Park and Emma from Fairmont made sure our stay was still excellent

Poor experience, poor service, poor communication & overpriced.
Cons:

No greeting on arrival. No assistance with luggage. Door staff were too busy speaking with each other rather than acknowledging guests.

Check-in inexplicably took over 25mins.

We were given an incorrect room - we were placed in a room allocated to members of the wedding party for the wedding that was taking place in the hotel that evening. Handwritten notes from the bride and groom, with the guests name and address, were in the room, along with personalised wedding favours.

There was no bed for our 5-year old in the room, which had been notified.

It took over 90mins to be moved to a different room - by now it was 7:30pm with a small child who hadn’t eaten dinner. No one arrived to collect and transfer our luggage so I had to go down to reception to retrieve the new key card and do it myself.

Upon check-out, there had clearly been no communication as the staff were completely unaware of the issues we had experienced and walked straight into a renewed complaint when they said “we trust you’ve had a great stay with us”.

The whole facility and location is outstanding

Cons:

Very slow check in and check out process. Disappointing to be honest. Employees seems not well trained and prepared to speed the process

Also, I was disappointed with not allowing me to extend check out by only one hour which most of hotel if not all around the world are very flexible allowing one hour extension, even with this extension they still will have three hours to ready a very small room for the next guest.

Wholesome and quiet luxury weekend
Pros:

We celebrated our first anniversary at the Fairmont WP and spent the day exploring and walking around Virgina water before checking into the hotel. Check in was seamless and quick. There was a super cute happy anniversary cake waiting for us in our room; thank you.
The room itself was perfect - spacious, clean and loved the interior deco. Luxurious and a great night sleep.
We had dinner at the brasserie - everyone was attentive and helped us to choose our main.
Spa - a perfect way to wind down after the day.
Gym - large , lots of equipment, clean and easy to use.
Padel /tennis - recommend as it’s such a fun way to spend your Sunday .
Breakfast - everything we wanted .

Cons:

The fact we only spent 1 night; next year we are staying a minimum 2/3 nights to fully enjoy ourselves . The only thing could be improved on was shower head in bedroom but there were 2 so wasn’t an issue whatsoever
