Had single rooms that were well equipped. Shower very good. Breakfast was above average, fresh and help yourself.
Close to Paddington station.
The pillows were huge, struggled even with one.
Lots of stairs to negotiate but doable, just be aware, but like a maze but plenty of signs.
Only 10 minutes walk from hotel to metro station, looks like safe neighborhood. As I booked it through Agoda, I emailed this hotel many times to confirm this booking but no response. Our room at Devonshire side, you have to cross the street for the front desk and breakfast (it rains often). No front desk at all in our block. Looks like travel tours also book this hotel, so you have to wait at least 30 minutes to get in for breakfast around 7:30 am. Their queen size bed is smaller than a standard queen size. The a/c or heater inside the room is not manageable, it's either too warm or too cold.

Room size
I cannot say I was impressed with this hotel. Upon arrival, we had a slight issue with rooms due to our travel company having a mix up. The manager was quick to resolve. The staff was nice and helpful.
Unfortunately, we had paid for a larger room in the Devonshire wing but when the issue was resolved, we were put in a very small twin room in the main building. Long story short, our travel company booked us two rooms instead of one so we got what was left basically. I didn't expect a suite but there wasn't even room to have our suitcases open. The bathroom was very small.
The bar online showed that it was fully serviced. The hotel "bar" had no alcohol displayed. There was never an employee at the bar. The photos were very misleading. Don't expect a fully equipped lounge to have a nightcap in.
Some pros of this hotel was that it has A/C and we were there during a heat wave. They replaced our towels daily. It was a great location for Hyde park. It was down a fairly quiet street. If you want an affordable hotel in Paddington, this would be good for you. If you are on vacation and looking for a nice hotel in that area, I wouldn't recommend this one.
I booked a deluxe double room for an over night stay in London. I chose this hotel for its location to Paddington station and the under ground . I paid prior to my stay . We arrived at reception and went to check in , first off I was asked for my passport, I told the gentleman I have traveled from Bath and that I dont carry a passport unless im leaving the country , he seemed shocked at this so asked for my driving licence, again I wasn't going to be driving while in London so took contents out my purse that I presumed I wouldnt need .
He went out the back of reception only to return to tell me that my sister and I were being transfered to a different hotel down the road . Bare in mind I had booked and paid prior to our stay and had confirmation emails and text but nowhere did it mention that we could or would be moved if id known I would have cancelled and stayed elsewhere , I chose this hotel as I like to stay in character buildings .
We walked further down the Rd to The Inhabit Hotel , very modern .
Walked in through what only can be described as an Internet cafe to the back of the hotel where reception was just a wooden table with 2 laptops , I handed the receptionist the conformation letter I had just been give at the original hotel id booked and again she asked for my passport and again I told her I dont carry it as ive not left the country and again asked for my driving licence eventually she settled for a bank card as id .
I was then asked for a £50 card payment as a deposit incase I caused any damage, 3 days later ive still not got it back in my account .
We got our key and made our way to our room 412 , let's say it wasn't the deluxe double id booked , it was small , sparcly furnished although nice and clean there was no wardrobe only a rail coming out the wall with 4 or 5 hangers not enough for 2 people. One chair and a chest of draws that you couldn't open fully because the room was an angled shape and the draws hit the sliding door or the shower room . The shower room was very modern and everything was spotlessly clean. We did have tea and coffee making facilities.
The following morning we went down for breakfast which was included in the price of the original hotel that I booked .
Where breakfast was being served was in the cafe style area where the bar was . Not really enough tables and they were so close to eachother it didnt make the breakfast experience very pleasant as we were sat so close to the people dining next to us , people were complaining about this issue as there is an empty room behind the bar area that was laid up ready for service yet everyone was crammed in the front where people were queuing at the bar area to purchase coffee . We were given a very limited menu to choose from , no buffet to get cereal, fruits or toast just a limited menu to choose from ,where as a couple that had come in to pay to eat were given a more expensive menu because they were paying. Both my sister and I chose poached eggs on toast with grilled tomatoes and a cup of tea , the cup of tea came and it was just a cup of tea with the teabag left in ,no pot of tea , no white sugar and just enough milk in a little milk churn. When the breakfast arrived there was no butter on the toast and as it was sour bread it was very hard without any butter and only half a grilled tomato each .
On a whole this hotel is so focused on sustainability rather than practicality and forbid it just didnt give us the experience we were expecting as we had booked in to a totally different hotel , so if you have booked in at The Grand Paddington on Devonshire Terrace be prepared to be moved and that could be anywhere in London as the guests that were checking in at the same time as us were being transfered back up to near Paddington Station.
I booked through Booking.com who I have raised a complaint with , they have contacted the hotel and so have I but as of this moment neither of us have had any response.
My advice if you want to stay in the hotel you booked and paid for check you wont be moved before you get there .
The pictures are of The Inhabit Hotel not The grand Paddington.
This is probably the best value hotel in central London - end of!
The room that I had was of a standard that normally you’d expect to pay two or three times as much.
The location is great for tube transport (close enough to Paddington).
I was super impressed with the value for money these guys offer
If I stay in town and am paying myself, then I’ll be going back!
Very poor wifi service combined with poor cell reception in the building made it very unpractical to work from the hotel.
