Still beautiful but not what it used to be
Pros:

The grounds were beautiful. View from the room over the river were lovely. Staff were very friendly. Room was very good.

Cons:

We found it very difficult to get food. We weren't told at check in that it was advisable to book for dinner. We were unaware that the cafe and bar were linked for food. Food was stopped at 4:30 in the bar. Then we tried the Italian restaurant which was booked out for most of the evening. We asked could we get a pizza in the bar which we were told that the kitchen was to busy. I explained the situation to the bar staff who was very understanding and great to deal with but in the end we had to wait 2 hours for food.
The room was only heated by an small oil heater which had a damaged cable.
The breakfast selection was very good but the fried breakfast is kept in a hot hold before serving everything was dried out.
Not sure if it has changed ownership but it feels it has dramatically gone down hill in the last while and is definitely not what it used to be. Absolute shame as it used to be perfect place for a get away.

Lovely, relaxing, refreshing, restorative.
Pros:

Breakfast was generally good. We didn't like the sausages, not to our taste. Meal in The Strawberry Tree was excellent. Light Bites in the Main Bar nice, cheese board was a bit too generous with cheese, more variety using a variety of fruits, chutneys and crackers would have improved it, it lacked the presentation. Less is more appealing with heavy food like cheese. We liked the tranquility of the grounds, the restful decor, friendly professional staff, the spa and outdoor hot tub.

Cons:

Toilet brush in room was filthy. The cold tap in the sink gushed hot water. The hot tap in bath ran brown water and the shower was hard to cool. All minor and not enough to deter a return visit.

Beautiful relaxing stay in the heart of the Wicklow mountains.
Pros:

It’s our favorite place. The location, the interior, the facilities. The restaurants. Everything is fab.

Cons:

The full Irish breakfast is the only area I would see improvement. It was nice but could be a bit nicer other than that it’s great.
