Staff nice. Bathroom and shower good.
I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately my stay here was disappointing.
The hotel and room felt very tired and in need of some proper maintenance. The windows in particular were in poor condition, with badly deteriorated frames and visible dirt around them. The room was also dusty, and there was a large crushed insect trapped in the roller blind.
There was also a distracting amount of noise from an outdoor jacuzzi/pump running until around 9pm, which made it difficult to properly relax in the room.
In the end I chose to leave first thing in the morning and get breakfast at a service station rather than stay for breakfast at the hotel.
I’m reluctant to criticise hospitality businesses, and the staff I encountered were perfectly pleasant, but the room itself really wasn’t at the standard I’d expect from a hotel stay.

Need some repair
Room was spacious. Bar meals were very good. Good choice of food at buffet style breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely dining room with a nice view.
Some breakfast items were a little dry as they had obviously been there a little while by the time we went to breakfast.
Room was quite cold.

The location was lovely.
The property was in a state of disrepair- no care or attention was given to the hotel. The room where the breakfasts were served were noticeably grubby and smelled badly of damp.
Our room was in the stable block - also smelled damp and dusty. The bathroom had noticeably mould - just an overall impression of neglect. The staff were unprofessional and also made it obvious they didn’t want to be there.

Just a one night stop to break journey and this fitted the bill. Just off A1. Decent bar for a late pint and good breakfast.

The hotel is very tired needs refurbishing. Our shower was not fit for purpose and room very old. The lounge bar is not inviting. Not worth the money

To be honest wants knocking down very out dated building very grubby..seen a rat..no staff on at breakfast..untill we decided just to go in sit down and help ourselves. Then finally a lady popped up and asked for our room number
