Rooms were pleasant, building and grounds were beautiful, staff were very friendly and down-to-earth and the price was very reasonable.
Breakfast was pretty average with sausages and scrambled eggs that didn't really taste of anything, bathroom wasn't 100% clean, the TV reception was poor so couldn't get half the channels, and there was a prom going on which meant it was very noisy until 11pm. They offered me a free upgrade but that seemed to be directly above the main source of music so I'm not sure it was a worthwhile perk. It was during the heatwave and there's no A/C and no fans in the room.
I have stayed at the hotel several times now over the last few years and always find the experience very pleasurable. I enjoy how the hotel is tucked away from the busy town and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The food from the restaurant is always good and fairly priced.
The only downside, if I am being really picky, was that the room was very hot and sticky due to not having air-conditioning or access to a fan, that being said, my stay was through a very hot heatwave. I would defiantly not let this put me off from staying again, I would just take my own fan with me.
Good welcome. Room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed an evening meal.
I put in a room above a gym. Trying to relax in my room after a hard day and was submitted to thud thud thud of someone on a treadmill at 9:30 in the evening.
Beautiful gardens comfy bed good shower
No visible information for spa
Tv system needs updating to accommodate Netflix etc logins
Very hot in rooms although, fan was available
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful
Decor a little worn in places
Nice hotel unfortunately I was only there for one night so did not use the facilities
Nothing
Nice rooms, Bar Meal was good British food.
Nothing. It was a good choice to stay here.
Nice breakfast too.
Good location, friendly staff
Uncomfortable room, room tired, phone not working, stained grout in bathroom, dead insects in room and restaurant.
Lovely hotel there for family 🥳 party
We stayed at Hall Garth Hotel on an overnight mid week stop over to Scotland. First of all, I have to say that the staff we encountered at this hotel were fantastic. From the reception staff to room cleaning staff, they were friendly and helpful. We booked the four poster room which was lovely and full of character. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic and included in our room rate. We ate in the bar area and the food was very good and reasonably priced. The drinks were also reasonably priced. Yes the hotel is looking tired in some areas and could do with a bit of updating or modernising but overall we thought this was a lovely little hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we are in that part of the country.
