Very good but needs improvement.
Pros:

Fantastic location and the property and grounds were beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable and all the services there were maintained to a very good standard. Beds extremely comfortable and having 2 armchairs in the room was a real
bonus.

Cons:

Whilst the food was excellent, the breakfast was terribly disorganised and the staff couldn’t seem to cope one morning when many guests arrived together. There didn’t appear to be anyone managing the young staff. We didn’t feel enough of the basic food was put out on the buffet table and sometimes ran completely out.
The food in The Conservatory in the evening had a very limited menu and service could be quite slow at times due to only one person being on duty.
Whilst the bar/lounge was lovely, the property is in desperate need of the use of a quiet second lounge. There was another room used for functions which you could go in when free but had a cold feeling and no atmosphere. Shame this couldn’t be turned into a cosy reading room!

Good stay.
Pros:

Very good. Staff professional

Cons:

The bar staff on Thursday evening not attentive. Had to order bar snakes at least twice. Ordered drinks then after 5 minutes that ask us again what drinks we ordered. More training needed.

Overall a relaxing stay in a wonderful location. Fabulous food and wine. Service could do a little better.
Pros:

Great location for discovering the New Forest and the hotel is set in beautiful grounds. Quality of the food in the Armada restaurant was exceptional. Great wines too.

Cons:

A little tired in places and the main accommodation block feels like most other chain/business hotels - a real disconnect from the character of the main house. We felt that the staff let the hotel down a little (eg slow service without apology and sometimes coming across a little inauthentic).

Hotel was fine. Wouldn’t return by choice. Most staff were really nice
Cons:

The bar staff were busy but should have acknowledged us whilst we were waiting

The room looked really corporate. The furniture throughout the hotel was generic and icky.

There was a white van parked next to our car in the carpark with someone sleeping in it.

Relaxing but lacking in je ne se quoi
Pros:

Breakfast.(with reservations as day 1 and day 1 were not consistent); staff in general were professional and personable. General setting of facility and its history, grounds, environment

Cons:

Lack of understanding of our reason for choosing R H...no recognition of my b'day...no welcome drink/flower (we are not NEW clients)...unclean spaces, poor facilities in gym area, arrogant receptionist, unfriendly attitude, agist....

An excellent stay overall and we look forward to returning.
Pros:

It was very hot the half term week so we wanted a hotel with a pool and the pool at the hotel was excellent. We had the chance to enjoy the gardens and the areas outside which were delightful. The room was very comfortable and we had a great time, breakfast was great too. Good parking for those arriving with their own car, much appreciated.

Cons:

Constructively speaking, and something that could be looked into would be the breakfast service as it took quite long. They only do it a la carte for hot food, and it was a busy day, so it took a while to get through everybody at the restaurant. Some items like pastries were on display, but very limited. Some thought could be given on how to make breakfast service a bit faster, perhaps some more items should be on display, things that are easy to keep on a buffet style without compromising the quality, usually elements of an English breakfast are not so hard to be kept like that, or a granola. That would already deal with a portion of clients.

Exceptional hotel in a beautiful setting.
Pros:

This hotel is quite special. Set in beautiful surroundings and very well appointed throughout. This isn't a typical hotel, the setting is exceptional, the food was top and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The room we had was lovely and the bed and sheets were probably the most comfortable I've stayed in at a hotel. They go the extra mile here.

Cons:

Nothing.
