Needs updating and a good cleaning.
Pros:

The front desk staff was helpful

Cons:

We did not stay at this property after seeing the room. The smell in the lobby was very off putting and once we saw the room, and it too smelled odd, we decided not to stay here. The room was very dark and dank and smelled like old carpet. By the look of things, the hotel had not been updated in years. The pictures on booking.com are very deceptive & misleading.

Perfect location, hotel needs major upgrades and better maintenance

The location! It’s at the end of the busy strip and right at the entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park! I don’t do the tourists trap stuff, I am there for the mountains! The Smoky Mountains has been my favorite vacation destination since I was a toddler. My parents brought us here every year since I was 3. I stayed at so many of the hotels in Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge!

Cons:

I stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago and it used to be so nice! It has really gone down here and I am very disappointed in Best Western for the deteriorating condition of this hotel! The hotel was filthy throughout! Our room while seemed to be fairly clean, carpet felt questionable and sheets smelled so strong of chlorine it left your skin smelling 🤮 I couldn’t sleep on the already rock hard beds. The worst musty smell of urine and after complaining multiple times to management and her visiting our room to inspect it, only to say it wasn’t that bad and unfortunately it’s just because of the heat and humidity outside the ac units have a musty smell! She came in and sprayed the room with air freshener which helped for a few hours but the smell came back quickly! The swimming pool was completely filthy and cloudy! Didn’t feel safe swimming it even if it was 91 degrees out! We were so excited to get but after checking it out just wasn’t going to risk it and honestly I never saw anyone get in the three days we stayed. The chemicals definitely need to be adjusted 😫 lastly the free breakfast I just couldn’t stomach it! Some fresh fruit an apple or banana would have been nice. When I booked this room it was a two bedroom with private balcony! However when we got there it was a shared balcony! The people next door checked out because they were unaware of the shared balcony! We couldn’t even sit out on our balcony without the ac units above dripping water on us! I asked for another room but was told they were sold out! I couldn’t get a refund which I paid in advance or we would have most definitely checked out the first day! We made the best of our vacation but I was so disappointed with this Best Western!
